FPS Launcher vs No launcher

With the launcher I am getting 20-35 fps

With the same mods and no launcher I get 75-85 fps...

Anyone have an idea why?

I tried to use Optifine with the launcher to up it a bit, but that is not working at all, flashing textures, random crashes, Chunks just not loading at all, even on a restart.

Crashes are probably a result of rendering conflicts between Optifine and another mod, and on the FPS issue, it happens with every launcher, you can't get around it from what I've seen.
