Hi guys, I'm really interested in Feed The Beast but I get around 3 fps. I don't have a terrible pc either. I have an 8 Core AMD processor, 8 Gigs of RAM, and a 64 bit operating system. What is odd is that when I turned on the server before, I got 15 fps. Please someone tell me what to do ): I get around 80-120 fps on normal minecraft.

Make sure you're using 64 bit java, as updated as possible (presently Java 7 u17)
Set your graphics to fast, not fancy
Don't do/run anything else in the background while playing
Allocate between 2-5 GB of RAM to allow your computer a processing buffer, and give FTB enough RAM to do its thing
Use Optifine if you want a little extra boost (I've found D4 to be the best working version presently)

I'll try D4. Also, how do I allocate some RAM to FTB?

Hey it's better than nothing!
What type of graphics card are you using? If it's integrated then there isn't much you can do by ways of increasing performance, but if's there's an actual card on your motherboard, then you should be able to change some of the settings to help out. Also make sure all of your drivers are up to date ;)

Yeah it's a brand new computer and it has one of those default Radeon ones. It isn't integrated though. My drivers are up to date also. 1 more question, I get like 90 fps for like 2 seconds but than it goes down to 30 and everything in between. Moving around with that feels really weird. Is there a way I can balance it at 50? I have tried the balanced option.

Do I put the rar file in there? Because it isn't working.
There's an easier way. Tons of videos, but I'll type it out. Go to your modpack, for example if you are you are using Mindcrack just select it. Then click edit mod pack. Them click add mod(make sure I have jar mod selected) then find your downloads folder and select optifineblahblah.ZIP(has to be ZIP) then click OK. After that, select core mods. Then add the zip like before. Click done and launch :)
