Forestry MultiFarm - Sticky Resin

I'm confused about the new forestry farms with regards to sticky resin. On the wiki it says that the farm will not harvest or plant trees. Does this mean then that once the resin has been extracted the tree is useless and so does this need to be manually cut down? If someone could explain this, that would be great thanks.

No you just have to plant them once, the farm will only harvest the resin, which then regrows...

that's how it was with the old farms, but the whole tree got harvested as well

resin spots regrow i have a small 3x3 farm with 20 trees and have more rubber then i could ever use
