Actually, TFC was supposed to be added to the FTB launcher. Not sure what happened with that. They may be waiting for build 76 to stabilize a bit. Which would be nice. Of course, with a mod that complex, I'm not too surprised that it has bugs.

If you want to play TFC without having to install it yourself there's a Tekkit Custom Pack for it.

I love how we have modpacks like YogCraft and Techworld and Magic World but not one that people have been waiting for.

proof? reason for saying this? or is it just a hunch you expect us all to blindly believe on faith?
I view it as sort of a gregtech mod you know. People wouldn't play it with other tech mods installed because it would be kind of hard IMO
Therefore they wouldn't waste time to make a pack for a handful of REALLY hardcore players
Just my opinion

TFC has been increasing in popularity lately. Especially after the introduction of its launcher. The hardest part about playing TFC was always the installation process, which was easy to get wrong. Nowadays that is no longer the case, and so many people who never bothered before are now giving it a try.

Also, you could use some precision of language. If you want to state that "TFC will probably never be added to FTB, the challenge map", then you would be correct. If you want to state that "TFC will probably never be added to the FTB launcher", then that's pure speculation on your part unless you can produce a quote from a person on the FTB team to back up your claim.

In general, it is bad form to include speculative statements in your posts. If you must, tag them as such, but better still is to avoid them entirely. People WILL call you out on them, and that gets awkward quickly. And it gets even more awkward if other people lap up your speculation as fact, get called out on it themselves elsewhere and then point the blame at you.

I can't load the wiki (some error), what exactly is TFC?
TerraFirma Craft is a total conversion mod.

It changes most of minecraft and how it works, in an attempt to make for a more "realistic" survival experience.

You have to knap stone for basic tools, and many more blocks are not usable as building blocks (dirt, sand, gravel, cobble...)

It can be a lot of fun if you are in the survival aspect, but it's basically the radical contrary to most mods, making you do much more work for your result.

If you ever plan on giving it a try, I suggest reading up to date guides, because it really is not fun when you are stuck and not knowing why you can't even gather wood or build a dirt wall.

Actually, you really can't install other mods alongside TFC, moreover than not. You can get most mods kind of working with the Custom NPCs mod allowing bridge recipes between TFC stuff and vanilla stuff, but you will never get a tech/TFC mixed pack off the ground.

That said, that was never the point. FTB was supposed to be includi8ng several "Total Immersion" mod packs, that showcased the really big mods. So far, we have DivineRPG, and I know TFC was planned at one point. These packs were designed to just be the one mod, plus supporting mods like NEI and Inventory Tweaks.

At a guess, the reason TFC has been slow to show up is that build 76 was announced to be coming for Minecraft 1.5.1, and it has been a big bug fest since release. Most of which appear to be fixed now.

I believe SOTmead does it aswell.

You made a post about an assumtion based on nothing. K.. :/

His whole post wasn't about if TFC be/will not be in the launcher. Drop it and talk about TFC or GenerikB's youtube if you can't pick either then please leave the thread.
