Hi,

I have a fermenter setup fermenting saplings from a farm. However it does not seem to work. I have supplied it with saplings, fertilizer, water and a power source. The machine reports that nothing is amiss yet it is not producing biomass.
Here are some screenshots:

Does it have *enough* water to ferment? It looks like the levels are a bit low - have you tried putting in more water to see if it needs enough water to *finish* the reaction rather than just any amount of water?

Alternately, I have found that removing and then replacing certain blocks (like engines) has solved various problems I've had in the past

I have tried removing both the fermenter and the engines multiple times and no dice but I will try the water.[DOUBLEPOST=1380891795][/DOUBLEPOST]

Ok full water and still nothing. Again tried removing both blocks but nothing.

could you tell us which modpack, and which version of the modpack you're using, and if you've added any addtional mods?

What kind of saplings are they. The fermenter won't accept, or at least didn't use to accept, rubber saplings. It might also have problems with certain types of BoP saplings or TF saplings.

You need a wooden conductive pipe between the engine and the machine. Many high power machines don't accept a direct connection from low power engines, as the minimum energy packet required is more than a Stirling engine can pump. If you don't see the engine pumping, no energy is being delivered. Adding the pipe will buffer the energy for it to work.

I would recommend 4MJ/t for a Fermenter to work at a good speed.

Ya, be careful. I had a stirling directly connected to a Multi-farm and it blew up from overheating. Best bet is use that bio-mass to fuel a biofuel engine. They don't explode, and create their own fuel (with the fermenter). Plus 4MJ/t much better than 1MJ/t.

Use a higher source of power, get more fertilizer, get more water, and try moving it away from a bunch of pipes and keep it in the open to test just in case pipes are interfering with the machine itself.

Ah thank you that solved it.
