I know, which is why it's usually better to start with a large modpack (or large universal configs, like what Velotican did for FTB back in their 1.4.7/1.5.2 days when all their configs were different for each pack)
RR is one of the largest, which is why I start there.. the only mod I add to it is ATG. The rest is easy removals

Not gonna count the older packs as they are no longer relavent, so my favorite would have to be Tech World 2. It's really solid tech-wise (of course) and lacks all the magic crap I couldn't care less about.
