The forestry auto-farms are my favorites. Not too hard to make... a bit difficult to fully automate with RP though.

Least favorites include crafting some of the advanced RP machines because it seems you have to craft or alloy furnace many pieces in order to get the 9 pieces to complete the machine. I also hate making wooden ties for railcraft. They are annoying because the recipe only makes 1 tie, you can't stack buckets, and tin cans are usually 1 time use items.

Admittedly, needing buckets or glass bottles is a bit of a pain for automation, but the materials : output ratio for rails is significantly better in railcraft. Vanilla, you get (iirc) 6 rails per 6 iron? possibly 8. RC nets you 16 for the virtually same price, and two more steps of busy work.

Nuclear reactors are horrible power generation for the risks and resources needed not only for it's self and all the stuff that you need in it but to setup a fully automated one is a nightmare because one bug/mistake on the setup and there goes the nuclear power plant.

Yeah, Nuclear Reactors are my favorite machine too.

My favorite "machine" is probably the golem, with the brain in a jar running a close second. Seriously, stop looking at me, brain!

Runner up: Industrial steam engines. So cool to watch those things puffing away.

Least favorite: Make room for me on the rock crusher hate cruise.

Least favorite: something from gregtech, maybe all.
Favorite: most of TE stuff, but liquiducts are nice.

Favorite: The entirely of Thermal Expansion. Awesome machines, awesome liquid pipes and conduit...pretty much overall just great.

Least Favorite: Probably the Forestry Farms...mostly because, as someone else said, they are annoying to try and run autonomously. I always have to babysit them. If they just made the behavior of the harvesting machines a little more predictable, it would be a lot better.

Favorite: Not really a machine, but the OmniWrench. I absolutely love that thing. Too bad you still need a lame screwdriver for RP2 stuff, but I think that's more down to Eloraam's policy on her mod than anything else (not that that's bad, it would be awesome to have 1 tool to rotate/pick up/configure everything though...).
After that, anything Thermal Expansion. From the pipes to the machines, it's all awesome, they look great and I love how configurable they are. Personally I think many mods are great, but don't reach nearly the refinement and awesomeness that TE has.

Least favorite: Coke Oven. It just feels terribly useless for anything except making Creosote, because even a stone furnace can turn a stack of wood into Charcoal faster than that thing. Sure it costs me 8 Charcoal to make a new stack, but that's very worth it considering how much faster it is...
Note that I do like many of the other things from RailCraft though, it's just the Coke Oven that could just be removed if you ask me.

I like Coal Coke, but I keep ending up with a bunch of creosote oil that I can't use. Tried it in a liquid boiler and it just burns up too quick to be useful.

I just store it in an iron tank. I'll probably flood someone's base with it once the liquid API is finished. :-D

Most favorite, very hard to tell. I love TE's adjustable slots and the Aqueous Accumulator (no water pipes running everywhere lagging the server). Also GT's Industrial Grinder, fully automating which is Fun. (Did you know that you can reuse the same casing for up to 4 Grinders, one on each side?)

Least favorite, Craftpacket Maker/Stamper - I can't see anything they do that a BC crafting table or a GT autocrafter doesn't do easier and better. Maybe I just don't know how to use them properly. Rock Crusher - again, every recipe has a counterpart in TE or GT which yields more stuff and runs faster.

You can take it a step further, it is possible to connect all GregTech multiblock machines on the same (weirdly shaped if you do this) casings!

Going with the theme of the thread,

Most Favorite: Probably the Industrial Grinder just for its major use of being basically an upgraded (and expensive) macerator.

Least Favorite: Probably the Magma Crucible, just because it feels kind of cheap to me to be able to turn Netherrack into Lava for a semi-cheap cost given the overabundance of Netherrack.

I'm a little confused. How does the too-quick burning of creosote oil mean that you are unable to use it?

I think he means that it gets used up to fast and does not create the long burn needed for steam.

So its useable but not useable as in you could not run the boiler off of it effectively.

Ah, I see what you're saying.
I suppose one solution would be to have a lot of coke ovens producing creosote oil in parallel, but that hardly seems worth it :p

Favorite machine? Tis a tie between the magmatic engine and the geothermal generator. There's just something about taking the normally terrifying force of nature known as lava, and using it to fuel your growing dominion.

Least favorite? Probably the blast furnace. I can see making steel difficult to get, but needing magma creams just to get it seems...a bit much.

You can make magma creams from slime balls and blazerods. Just macerate/pulverise the rods to get more powder, and slimes spawn in swamps at night.

There's a direwolf20 server play season 3 video where someone makes a factory that can produce most basic (if not all) red power integrated redstone circuits on demand using only 1 craft packet maker, a stamper, a computer, a sortron and a reed->paper farm.

Be happy your not trying to build the Industrial Blast Furnace from GregTech on hard mode.

Man I still need one of those. .... man I need to get my IC wing started.

Man I need to finish this bee stuff.... sigh so much to do ... I know I'll dick around on the forums instead!
