Greetings,

It has been awhile since I've built an alveary to mutate my bees (since v1.4.2). I remember back then all you needed was two Mutator blocks and Uranium to get a 100% mutation. Since time has passed, modpacks have changed (IC2 uranium seems a bit different), I was wondering what the most effective way to get as close as possible to a 100% pure mutation is?

FYI: I don't have any Nether Stars so I can't really use those

Thanks for the assistance

Yes, quite a lot has changed; first off, this now turns Pristine Bees into Ignoble Bees(the latter being what Swarmer Bees used to be, aka it's good for a while, but always dies off leaving only drones eventually).
Second, Gendustry was released, making most(but not all) things from Extra Bees garbage by comparison. Which is fine, they are really friggin' expensive.
With Gendustry you can make a machine that mutates bees into strains they can breed into; a advanced version can even let you PICK the strain; including seasonal strains(such as leoprine) or ones with weird-as-shit mutation limits(such as Jaded Bees).
Yes, that's right. No longer does your IGN have to be @Jadedcat to get Jaded Bees.
Yeah, that's right, Jaded. I'ma have some Jaded Bees outside my house sooner or later.

...Oh, and a new thingy was recently added allowing you to clone bees. Yeah, that's right, take some meat and break it into protein, take some bees, tree junk, or butterflies(or caterpillars which apparently are worth a whole bucket each, where as even queen bees are worth .6 buckets) and get Liquid DNA(or use the stuff you have from Extra Bees if you prefer), send it to this new machine and get a new creature from this stuff, be it a sapling, butterfly, or even a Bee(though Bees are always Ignoble as a result of this process).

That entire thing sounds like the very definition of unbalanced. I was already not really a fan of most of the extra bees machines, but at least they were relatively expensive to run.

And now Gendustry makes ExtraBees seem cheap both in terms of needed resources and power usage! Isn't that great?

Not really, for me the fun with bees is to breed them and get to the top tier and it was good that you couldn't shortcut with more resources/power because once you have an automated mining system, resources and therefore power becomes pretty trivial.

In 1.5.2 the mutator block was kinda given a cap. If you by any means increased the mutation rate by more than 10x you would get swarmer bees(now ignoble). So this means that you will in essence be limited to one mutator with uranium(gives exactly x10).

Also note that using frames that increases the mutation rate at the same time as the mutator seems to just completely mess up the mutation chance and I would stongly advice against it. Use only the mutator with uranium and if you want to use frames, use chocolate frames or the like to shorten the lifespan.

Gendustry can feel a bit cheaty. I presonally use it for skyblock maps where correct bee conditions are almost impossible. And I config it to take 5 times the power.

That's my main suggestion too; bump up the power usage and you'll be fine, usually.

...Somehow I think I have you to thank for the Biome Overrides that were added to Gendustry in the last update @Jadedcat ...

With all this ignoble sillyness, is there a way to somehow craftftw a princess or something?

Quarries. Loads of Rocky bees that ways.
Or, as mentioned, one can just make new ignoble bees. And if that's not good enough for you "but they'sa gonna die off eventually!" types, you can try your luck at the Skyblock Companion Ex Nhilio and it's Hive Generation system that uses a artificial hive to try and get bees to populate it, thus making it usable for whacking with a scoop, hopefully getting you a pristine bee in the process.

Also the recent Gendustry Update added a Upgrade for it's Apiary that isn't cheap, but makes ignoble bees not die off ever when it's used.

Err how do you get bees in the first place in a skyblock?
