Nuke Cannon is not constructed in the usual fashion lurkers reading this thread.

As stated by Poppycocks, you must use oil in place of water. You also need to encase the entire structure in iridium tungsten steel reinforced blocks. Frames are likely required with a highly intricate assembler setup which deploys the nuke while at the same time triggering an epic noteblock sequence that must last at least 80 seconds during which the nuke is primed. Before pressing the button you must also sacrifice at least 1000 cows, and throw the hides into a RedPower volcano. You are then required to remove any armor and stand on top of the cannon as it fires, hopefully that epic music is still playing.

Please note: This is called going out in a blaze of glory and may not be suitable for all ages or levels of rage at losing everything in your inventory and within a few hundred blocks. Use of forcefields may result in survival.

I was testing some blast radiuses. iTNT has a really weird shape. I might start mining with it, now that my turtles got boring with my lack of coding know-how.

iTNT doesn't affect ores at all, it only blows up all non-ore blocks.

Nuke cannon with oil instead of water?
Operating on hearsay here, but last I heard IC2 fixes the "explosion in water doesn't damage blocks" thingie, and it does so by simply editing vanilla water, however last I heard BC oil was based of original vanilla water without anything done to the explosion... hm, "resistance".

Thus oil.

I think we can all agree that FTB needs more death lasers. I wish you could put a sword and an offensive wand in the bore and turn it into a weapon, but I guess mining is cool too. *sighs*

There are so many addons that I can imagine that don't exist, and it gives me a sad.

Also, I now must make that nuke cannon. TIME TO SACRIFICE SOME COWS! :D

EDIT: iTNT doesn't affect ore? Even better!
Double edit: I wish oil was flammable, how cool would a flaming spout be?

LOL oh the ideas I come up with. I have been channeling my mad scientist/evil genius since I saw the traps thread :D

Ooh, I'll have to try that. I don't want to deviate too far from the original modpack though, so I've limited my modding to client side only. Hrm.

I wonder how that old explosive/elemental arrows mod is doing. Oh! That reminds me! I need a mining laser, set to explosive! And turtles can use those things...huh. Explosiveturtle army? Hmmm...meh, I'm too lazy to learn Lua anyway.

I have to get myself a bunch of blast-protection gear. And turn my wasteland into a testing site, with one of those little fake towns and everything.

Can I bring up exploding fusion reactors again?

Nuclear fusion releases what I understand to be fairly gargantuan amounts of energy in the form of electromagnetic radiation. If the containment/energy collection somehow fails, all this gets released into the environment. Which can be problematic. Though, as per what Omicron said, the walls are ... fairly hard to cause failure in.

Another minor thing, Omicron, in expanding, it won't really cool off; the average kinetic energy of each particle remains the same. Though the temperature per unit volume will definitely decrease.

why should anyone use a nuke-cannon, when people can construct nuke cruise missiles?

I think about a RP2-frame with a few drives (6 way would be fun) and maybe a computersystem like CC. and of course a chunkloader. and most important: one or several nukes, maybe even with a deployer.

the frame flies to a certain spot, sets the nuke and ignites it.

Speaking of that, is there a way to automate block placing? I want to make a hot air balloon factory (that are also bombers, teehee) using the frames and the like. I'll probably have to paste in all the code manually, but still. Hot-air balloon factory.

I really hope there is a block placer thing. I'm pretty sure I could use it to "print" setups. I know there is a block breaker...

I think you might want either a Deployer or an Assembler (Tech 2 deployer, deploys in a sequence or based on what colour bundled cable input its receiving) for all your block placing needs.
