playing using ftb unleashed 1.1.4. (not sure if its a bug or not) most the time my electrical engines don't seem to connect to the ic2 cables properly (both hv cable and glass fiber cable) i set everything up correctly give them plenty of power but the engines don't work and say they require power. some work but others don't, and the ones that do work, wont work for long. has anyone experienced this before

all i did here was crate the setup. that worked fine, the to replicate the bug i simply moved out of the area so the chunks unloaded, when i came back they had stopped

I'm having this exact issue. Unloading the chunks stops the engines and I can't get them back to work unless I restart the server. Any solutions except for building a chunk loader?

Had the same issue, it seems to be an issue with the electrical engine. When removed, the electrical engine seems to leave behind some kind of fake cable, that ic2 cables seem to connect to but in fact do not.

You can see the effect here:

The side this fake cable is pointing at will not transfer energy anymore unless it is fixed. Replacing the bugged cable will not work, even with a different type. It can be fixed by placing and removing any ic2 block or cable on the side the cable points to:

After that you can use that side of the cable again.

EDIT: obviously that's no viable solution for the chunk unloading problem. It seems that for now you have to keep all chunks that contain electrical engines loaded with a chunkloader after you fixed the problem.
