To me that use of CC is the definition of OP. I personally have done almost 0 work for unlimited mining. Some stone and glass then copy/paste something to never think about ores again. Maybe if I had the skill or desire to program it myself.. If I want it that easy I'm totally down with just cheating in what I want. Different strokes and all that I guess.
Tbh there are still huge drawbacks to using turtles that makes me want to switch to real Quarry solutions as soon as I can. For example turtles will go missing or reset to basic(loose their tools) occasionally during server/game restarts(its a problem that occurs with all moving entities during the save, happens with minecarts/trains too).

And even though that script I linked has a auto resume function, it is not foolproof. Sometimes it ends up counting 1 block wrong, or just going the wrong way etc.

And then there is ofc. the matter of speed. The script I linked is "advertised" as faster than a normal BC quarry(or it used to). But that was only the case if you set it not to mine cobble, dirt, gravel etc. If you want it to mine everything, it is slower. And most new quarry methods are just way better in speeds, stability, chunkloading etc. And honestly with even half decent tools you can mine many times faster manually than the turtle can.

And I dunno, 3 diamonds for a Mining Turtle is not negligible early on. Specially not if you might loose it to server/pc restarts etc.

I liked when you could attach red power gem tools to turtles :) super cheap then. And yes all the points are true. You can have many turtles. Tho. I don't use them for later game, just early while I tinker with magic

And I have the code saved on my computer because I used it so much. It's great, but now I find it a little more fair to code it myself, until I get frustrated and fall back to old habits

Early game quarrying...
There was a time where those words just didn't compute.
In balanced mod packs; Quarries are at the very earliest mid game.

Haha right, but many mods add methods so a cheap but slow one would be good
I'm personally fine with the Mid/late game quarry paradigm.
To me the only early game automated mining involves elastic bands on mouses and a W key stuck down with glue tack.

Well, I've found it surprisingly complicated to run a Quarry using RF... since the pack I'm using has the Energy Conduits disabled. If I want to run it on something more efficient than Stirling Engines, I have to go the way via a QED and Energy Transfer Nodes...
Yikes, might as well build an Ender Quarry instead.
