Somewhere on the internet
So I keep on seeing stuff on twitter about Pahimar's new DynEMC thing and how great it is, and I have no clue about it. Can some smart person let me know how it's going to work and why it's so great? Thanks :D

It takes base materials from mods, gives them an EMC value then takes those items and looks at other recipes, sees what makes it up and gives that an emc value based on the emc value of the things used in the recipe. So if wood planks is 6 emc then a crafting table would be 24 emc because it uses four wooden planks. It also detects infinite EMC loops like the blaze rod maceration one. Sadly no fix to cow rape yet.

hmm, that's neato. What would it do for the EMC of things that are machine-processed?

It can understand some machines IRRC, such as the macerator.
And it also determains the least efficient method, to make sure there is no loops.
Also there will be a cost of emc to transmute, so transmuting cobble into diamonds might cost 10,000 instead of 8192

Do you mean by a condenser? It would fix exploits for that as well. That's why it's taking so long mostly. This thing is taking care of ALL mods. Yes, even the ones that suck.

It basically looks at all recipes for everything and assigns EMC values. To prevent exploits, it always uses the least efficient method.

So for example, if you can get 6 planks out of log with a sawmill, it would say 1 log = 8 emc and a plank is 1.5 emc or less.

Well, I think there will be more than 2 types of EMC this time. The old fuel and matter was nice, but it could be broken down further I think. I do hope he brings back Klein Stars that let you convert between types and store EMC.

It is also some intersection of graph theory and information theory to hear Pahimar tell it. Makes 0 sense to me.
