Distribute rotarycraft power evenly?

I'm a few days into rotarycraft/reactorcraft. I'm currently exploring my first reactor - for now I'll be using rotational dynamos for conversion to RF - however I'm producing more rotational power than any one thing can intake and I've read some example setups that "distribute power to 16 dynamos". However, I'm still new to rotarycraft and am trying to understand how to do this.

From what I understand, shaft junctions would divide the power in two, meaning the second dynamo would get half the power the first dynamo got, assuming they're all on a chain of junctions.

You can change the shaft junction output ratio

If you want to divide your power in 16, you need 15 shaft junction

First one splits in 8-8
Two to split in 4-4-4-4
Four to split in 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2
Eight to split in 1's then connect to the dynamos

Shaft power bus and controller are the best for this. Set up the shaft power bus controller so that it is receiving power and supply it with lubricant via a pipe or fluiduct. Then attach shaft power buses to any output of the controller or each other (I use a straight line).

Next, craft as many HSLA shaft units or gear units (the items, NOT the placable blocks, make sure you do not put them in a mount.) as you have dynamos (I used 21 dynamos geared for 8x torque).

Place the shafts/gears in the bus GUIs in the colors corresponding to output side.

Keep in mind that rotational dynamos can only take 8192 N/m and 8192 rad/s. Any extra is wasted but not dangerous.

I was getting about 950 MW at 65k rad/s from my turbine, so I used an 8x gear in each shaft power bus output slot so each dynamo got an even split of the power geared correctly so that all dynamos were under 8192x8192. From this setup, I was getting about 7500 RF/t from each dynamo, and I had 21 dynamos.

I'm using slightly fewer dynamos than MajPayne21 but the overall setup is similar. The biggest difference is that I gear the torque BEFORE splitting it umpteen ways (and gearing it down at each split)

The major problem after this is figuring out how to store it all. Good luck with that :)

Alllllso apparently there's a toy in the newer RoC version called a Turbine Generator. I haven't played with it yet but I suspect its a capless RF converter.

It's capped at around 180krf/t, and it attached to a turbine, so you can have one for each turbine you have for your reactors. Just with a test reactor, I managed to get it stable at about 168k/t, which is about enough to run 14 T5 Magnetostatic Engines. From what I can tell, it's the same amount of power you can get from Rotational Dynamos.

I recommend that you use a Shaft Power Bus as it's a bit more user friendly than several shaft junctions at the cost of needing to pipe in lubricant to the controller.

The turbine generator has no coded cap. It can generate 500kRF/t on an ammonia turbine.

Ah, I didn't mean there was a hard cap to it. I figured since you require a turbine attached to it, it'd be limited by the same rules of steam and ammonia?

This is correct. That limit, however, is not 168kRF/t.

Nah, 168kRF/t is what I got from an inefficient reactor design, the 180kRF/t (from 950MW) is the cap that I got from your MCF page. Sorry for the confusion.

Anyone know: If I switch my water-reactor, which peaks at 200C sometimes, to ammonia, will it cause problems?

I've got quite a bit of ammonia stockpiled (meteorcraft) but I've been hesitant to use it.

Ammonia auto ignites and explodes at 400-450 C. I can't recall the exact number.

I'm wary of using it because I have weird temperature fluctuations in my heat exchangers and boilers on my pebble bed reactor.

When I have idea what to do with insane amount of power I have tokamak:) Apparently the easiest way of getting resources for Ammonia is by using MFR lasers.

No MFR in Horizons :) But that's ok. I have plenty of ammonia, and if it gets recycled properly in later versions of ReactorCraft I'll be fine.

Yeah that's a bit scary. Heat fluctuates oddly. Instead of "sliding", it "jumps".

Seeing as a HTGR operates around 800C, you do not want to use ammonia for such reactors. It is designed for standard fission reactors, but can also be used in very well-designed breeder reactors, and maybe some really, really well-designed fusion reactors.

This was fixed in v20.

You know, all this talk of HTGRs and not using ammonia in them due to explosions is making me wonder... if it's possible to get the heat from the reactor out of it yet somewhere safe without wasting it, and then use ammonia. Likely not, but then again, I also wonder if one could use a heater to boil water/ammonia. Weird ideas that will likely go nowhere but my brain insists I look into at some point.

Also sweet, didn't see that the turbine generator had been added yet. Gonna have me a fun time with that.

A triple cycle? Maybe. I have toyed with double-cycle fusion reactors.

If I understand correctly, there's a problem with the Turbine Generator.

How the hell are you going to move 180,000-500,000 RF/t from a single source with only Rotarycraft + TE?
