Disappearing tools with durability left?

As I have a nasty case of ADHD, so I often misplace my tools, and end up rummaging through numerous chests finding them (let me tell you, I appreciate NEI's search function).

Well, today I have confirmation of what I suspected yesterday: I 'used up' a tool that had plenty (half or more) durability - my shovel of the earthmover disappeared (without the breaking noise) leaving me with the dirt block in its place.

Earlier I had thought the same happened to my pickaxe of the core... and I lost a prototype omnitool yesterday that I cannot find - if its the same issue, it's not just Thaumcraft OR tools with durability.

Anyone experience this?

Just lost my axe of the stream same way, right click 'poof' while trying to break a jukebox this time. Resource wise, I can replace the tools - or tweak the config for NEI I guess (I disable cheating to avoid the temptation)

I just hope to figure out why it's happening.

If you have a screen recorder you could:
Record and
A) Review video seeing what you did with it
B) Post on YouTube and see if others can tell what happened
Hope you find it

Damnit, now trying to attach a sign to an apiary and the sign disappeared with a faint 'click'. It's definitely right click related, I'm checking that I didn't bork key assignments or something.

I've seen dissapearing textures maybe that's it

Sounds like a issue with InvTweaks to me, if you hear a faint Click. That's the sound of the sorting being used to me. Try disabling it for a bit and see if you lose any more tools.

I found these tools in my inventory, with one or two durability left. The bar was completely empty, and they lasted for a few more seconds. It's useful if you want to repair your tools, but sometimes it's annoying.

InvTweaks has an setting (click the Options button to get to it) for repair-friendly tool switching, or something like that (I don't have it open right now) for avoiding breaking tools. You can turn it off if you want to use them up instead.

As for stuff going missing entirely, I dunno what's up with that.

I think I'm experiencing a similar bug, but only during crafting. Specifically, I'm losing handsaws when I craft miniblocks, and quartz knives when making processor assemblies. In both cases, completely new and unused tools disappear with the use. The tools are "consumed" by crafting, whereas they should only deteriorate.

This issue occurs whether the "Repair-friendly refill" for InvTweaks is ON or OFF.

I'm using FTB Ultimate 1.01 with the FTB launcher 1.2.3
