Disable NEI in FTB Infinity

I started a server with some friends on FTB Infinity, and NEI is just a pain in the... butt. It's a Survival server, and NEI gives creative mode + heal, inventory save'n'load, magnet and much more stuff that we don't want. Hell that's cheating!

I tried locking NEI to Utility Mode.

Moved to my config folder

cd config
cd NEI
nano client.cfg

(client.cfg is not just in the config folder, and there is no NEIServer.cfg file, unlike what the creator's thread specifies).

I change inventory.cheatmode to 0 and also inventory.lockmode. But it is still possible to switch to creative and also change it back to cheat mode.

Fine, let's get this thingo away.

I removed

neiaddons-1.12.8.29-mc1.7.10.jar
NEIIntegration-MC1.7.10-1.0.9.jar
NotEnoughItems-1.7.10-1.0.4.105-universal.jar

from the mods folder and placed them somewhere else, just to find that now the server can't start.

Any tip?

I think you have to be OP to be able to switch gamemode, use magnet and give items.

Post the log file, it should tell why it won't start.

Oh indeed, I forgot I'm opped.

Issue now is : NEI crashes. No matter what I do (ask for a recipe or request an item even if I'm not OP), NEI closes my Minecraft session. Guess I once more want to disable it. Thanks for the tip tho

Did you tried to restoring to default those config files?
