Direwolf20 modpack fails to launch

Details of the issue:
I always get this error when trying to launch the pack. The launcher starts to download, stops, and then I get this error message. Any help is greatly appreciated.​

Go to options tab on launcher, click "Force update" (just once) and then try launching again

I realized I was using the curse client (I have not used FTB in a long time, just thought it was the new launcher.) Weirdly enough, I switched to the old launcher and it worked fine.
