I am running Windows 8.1 with Java 8u11 and a fresh re-install of ftb. The log window, game, and FTB launcher all crash about 15 seconds after I try to create a world or less. I really could use a fix, or really and suggestions to what could be causing this issue. Also ram size is set to 6 gigs as I am running 64 bit Java.

get this error code:
SEVERE: JABBA-Debug Problem loading texture: extrautils:bw_(obsidian)
[00:37:54] [Client thread/ERROR]: ########## GL ERROR ##########
[00:37:54] [Client thread/ERROR]: @ Post startup
[00:37:54] [Client thread/ERROR]: 1281: Invalid value
[00:38:11] Logs copied to clipboard

- I have tried disabling the JABBA add on to no avail, when I run FTB with windows 7 (dual boot) same Java version the game will run, although not very well.

What is the total ram in your system? You should reserve at least 2GB for Windows to run in.

Also, 6GB is too much ram... Java cannot handle the memory cleanup for more than about 4GB. The recommended Java settings are:

Minimum ram = 2GB
Maximum ram = 4GB
Permgen = 256MB

I'm not sure how to check the current settings for Java, or the proper command line switches to make changes, but my system runs fine with the client allocation set to 4GB.

I reduced its allocation to 3.5G out of my 8 gigs total and it crashed exactly the same, it doesn't even show any loading words or anything after I hit create new world.

Do you get a full crashlog? If so could you put that on pastebin so we can see the full thing, as they are usually more insightful :)

Now that is strange...
1st off, have you removed any mods from the pack? (Just curious)
2nd off, have you tried disabling JABBA? and/or Mystcraft? (as in, you hadn't done so when you had this crash)

I have never seen a crash like that, but they are the only things I could think of?

I have tried disabling JABBA, I will try disabling mist craft aswell ( give me a minute) and i get the same exact crash if i download vanilla minecraft and try to create a world. However I intend on playing on a server that will have mist craft enabled so i cant just not use it

Just want to see if you still crash with it disabled.

If you do, then my only other idea is reinstall the pack

I doubt it. I assume you have deleted the whole "direwolf20_17" folder before installing?
And then when you go to install it you just press launch and let it run?

Without knowledge of your location, maybe it would be a good idea to change the download location to "CurseCDN" as apparently that helps. And maybe something didn't download correctly. But to be perfectly honest, I have no idea.

Yeah I always delete all before a re-installation, what exactly do you mean by the CurseCND location?

You are collect but if it runs when you uninstall it, it means you just need to add an expectation for it in your antivirus.
