My friends and I decided to make the upgrade to the newest direwolf and as expected I regret everything. I tried updating it earlier and it just doesn't work. Minecraft launches and it says "MOJANG" with that familiar logo and after waiting for about 45 seconds to a minute, poof, the window closes and nothing else happens. I've tried reinstalling java, reinstalling ftb, forcing the new update etc. etc. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance

By upgrading I just meant we went from using 1.5.2 to 1.6.4
Unfortunately it is not possible to upgrade from 1.5.2 to 1.6.4. The FTB team stated that worlds would need to be reset. Sorry but there are way too many changes from version to version in modded minecraft. In vanilla it may be most likely be possible but with modded no.
Well we actually switched server hosts and made a new world and everything, my issue is that I can't even launch minecraft through FTB.
Try removing any versions of java you have and install the x64 one from here.
You have a 64bit os so you should be using the 64bit java.
That seems to have worked, I think I've always had 32-bit and it hasn't been an issue up until now but oh well. Thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it
