Running Monster 1.1.1 w Gregtech installed.

I remember that with enough power that thing would just fly along. Now... it seems rather slow. I'm trying to give it 200MJ/t (2kRF converted with a redstone energy conduit), and it's not taking nearly that. Did it get nerfed, does Greg mess with the pump speed, or am I just missing something?

It wasn't USING that much power, I was just trying to feed it that. It seemed to be using like 5rf/t or something... It was sad.

What do you mean waste a conduit? To go from RF to MJ you have to use a conduit to convert the power... I'm pumping oil from an oil well that is not near my house, want a mobile set up. I can bring an energy cell and use that to power it rather than an engine and fuel.

Redstone engines dont use fuel, they are free power.

Yes, and they are slow, and don't provide much power. I like using RF, as I can just fill up an energy cell much faster, move the cell around all i want, and it just takes a simple conduit to convert the power.

They provide enough power needed for a pump. And are quick enough once tey heat up

Unless something has changed since the wiki was written, they only provide .05MJ per tick. The pump USED to be able to take up to 200MJ/t, at which point it would pump 20 buckets of liquid a second. It's not going that fast anymore, but it's still going WAY faster than it would at .05MJ/t. It takes 10MJ/bucket. So it would take 10s at .05MJ/t to pump one bucket of oil... that's not "quick enough" by any means. I'm trying to drain this oil well as fast as I can.

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
Can you stick up a few screenshots of your build?

Take a look at the buildcraft config options- quite a few modders have been tinkering with BC stuff and nerfing it.
I think redstone engines can no longer power a pump, among a load of other changes.

Also you can rule out greg's tinkering.
Greg (Source IC2 forums) said:
These are all changes I do to other Mods per default. And I mean ALL of them:

Buildcraft Quarry Recipe changed to contain Diamond Drill (Configurable).
Forestrys Bronze Crafting Recipe.
Universal Electricity Plates to use the GT Ways of getting Plates, what is even a Buff.

That is ALL. I change NOTHING else of other Mods per default. If another Mod decides to use GT Components, then it's the Mod causing that and not GT. If you stumble upon "Gregorium Ingot" then it's RichardG adding that Stuff, and not me. Do you still think I am the one nerfing everything?

This is assuming your pump hasn't gotten stuck lowering its pipe (personally I've had it happen quite a lot)
-break/replace the pump
-try XU enderpump
-try Greg's industerial pump

I have a chunkloaded pump in the nether with 4 redstone engines and an endertank, and it spews out lava like there's no tomorrow.

Are you aware that 200 MJ/t is equal to 2000 RF/t?

Yes, I know RF to MJ is 10:1, that's why I was giving it 2k RF (as I said in my original post). I was also using a redstone energy conduit, so it was able to handle the energy. And as I also said, it was using roughly 5RF/t, or 10MJ a sec, thus 1 bucket/sec. No chunk loaders (it's a multiplayer server, they are the one banned item). I've switched to the gregtech advanced pump, which seems slightly quicker, but uses way more energy. Tried the pump+, but as far as I could tell it doesn't work on it's own (at least my conduits wouldn't attach).

But regardless, my original question was if the BC pump was nerfed in whatever version of buildcraft is used in Monster (or is it BC factory, cause that's what mod NEI says the pump is from...). I thought I had seen something about it being slower since it was "rewritten", but nobody see

Well
There are 2 answers that may be right since we do not know.

Last I used the pump which was very recently I was able to use a tesseract and redstone conduits to suck up oil super fast. I dont think its been nerfed as far as I can tell.

PumpPlus is only for attaching to a QuarryPlus to pull liquids out of the quarry area.

"Buildcraft Factory" Is part of Buildcraft, it is the module with the machines. They changed to a system similar to what Redpower used to use, where there are separate modules/categories within the mod itself.

Just tested the Pump a bit: 15 rf/t ( Yes, rf. I was using a cell to get pretty accurate numbers. ) was essentially the max. It actually used something like 5 rf/t, but there was a warm-up period that needed around 250 rf to start, and it didn't seem to accept much more than 15 rf at all. This delay was a couple seconds at 15, and about half a second faster at 10,000. So, it CAN use more power than redstone engines can put out, but not much.

They never changed it, it has been modules since beta 1.7
