Detecting Online Player

I'm Just wondering if there is any method to detecting online, my guess or hope is Computercraft or something else has a method of doing so.

My Purpose is to turn on and off certain functions of my base on a multiplayer server like defences and traps

I apologies if this is the wrong section, I'm Currently using Unleashed 1.1.3, i know FTB ultimate had a mod which added a block which would serve my purpose but that mod is sadly not in unleashed

Yeah... That mod is Immibis' TubeStuff, in case you convince your server operator to install it.

I myself don't know of any alternatives, unfortunately.

You could do a chat controlled computer system. Just type a message in chat and it will do stuff, and it should only recognize you so other players can't undo the changes your command made.
