Crashing upon opening inventory

This is the second time I've made a new game, played some, and then had this problem. This time, I was searching specifically for Xycraft mod items, I went to delete the search in NEI when I crashed. Now every time I open my inventory, or another inventory I crash and get this error.

Is there any way to stop this from happening? Or to fix it so I can continue playing this world? (It's single player and I have no backup saves)

Make a backup of your Saves.

Then navigate to modpack -> minecraft -> saves -> NEI -> local -> worldname -> delete NEI.dat
