...but it shouldn't be too long till the 1.7 pack from Direwolf is released, he ended season 6 just a few days ago, so the new season should start soon after
That doesn't necessarily follow - there have been big gaps between his SP seasons before, 2 months between S5 end and S6 start. Maybe he will carry on with just 2 series alternating for a while, and start S7 when his Crash Landings series finishes. I guess it depends on whether 1 ep per 2 days works for Pahimar, maybe he will have a different third series as a stop gap, or do 2 SMP videos per 3 days.

Saw the end of the series yesterday and I must say this was a very nice season. I follow DW20 seasons since 1.4.6 and I must say he does an excellent job in explaining the basics in his SSP. I also liked that he tried to be a bit more conscious of "design" by making 9x9's made of other materials apart from stone bricks (and sometimes even 11 by 11's  ).

Good job and lets wait for the 1.7.10 one. I am sure to follow that one too.

Also from what I saw from the streams apparently Big Reactors ore is included...

But it doesn't add much

Oh... ok... well that means it's just gonna be the same basically then -_-
Not necessarily true. For example, I was watching Wyld's stream the other day and saw on the mod list Blood Magic, Steve's Factory Manager, and Big Reactors.

well, I guess that's true
it's just that I have the feeling it won't be long seeing as there's streamers who livestream the testing of the new pack. usually they try to keep things like that a secret until the last testing phase

I used to like watching direwolf, though I do still follow his episodes, but I just don't enjoy them as much anymore. the problem is that if you've followed about 2 seasons, his builds start to become kind of boring because he basically just does the same builds over and over with some small changes.

it was fun to see him doing Agrarian Skies and Crash Landing, as he had to do builds he wasn't used to because he was missing his usual modpack and sometimes it's fun to see what he needs to do on forgecraft because not all the mods are on the server, so I hope he keeps doing more unique modpacks in the future

I'm basically hoping he'll do something like a community choice modpack, a modpack that's put together by his viewers, with certain goals and achievements he needs to work towards to

SFM -__________________- The MOST boring mod to have in a pack... Why? BECAUSE IT IS SO BORING TO WATCH! Don't get me wrong, it's a great mod. But Dire spends too much time automating stuff using that, it's basically gonna be "Oh I need to automate something, and I'm gonna use SFM" Yeah, it's cool... ONCE but he will spend so much time in it, almost every episode will be at least 5 minutes of flow charts once he has SFM

I don't think he will. After all, you don't see him spending whole episodes showing his computercraft code. Also, he's already done SFM a ton in crash landing AND has a several part spotlight on SFM. And he has even acknowledged that it is not fun to watch him doing SFM. What he'll probably do is just do the programming off camera then give a quick update on how he's having the manager do its thing.

though it's not an exciting mod to watch it is however a very powerful mod and a very great mod to use if you want to automate all kinds of builds.
it's like a combination of computercraft, the router from factorization and ender io conduits

Yes, but in his Server Play series, he is constantly working with SFM on camera... even if it is just a little bit.
I have no issues with him showing off cool stuff, but unless there are certain things which need to be done specifically he should just cut the video by saying "I'm going to do <task> if you need help on how to do this, check out my SFM spotlight"

Server play series != Lets play SSP series. Server play is him playing with new/updated mods. SSP is him playing with familiar mods.

I personally would've liked it if you were able to actually save your SFM program/configuration to a notepad file and you could load the configuration into other worlds
that way he'd be able to share SFM configuration files and add comments into the configurations explaining how or why he did certain things

with that it'd also be pretty cool if SFM could add a thing like sticky notes for this reason, being able to make small comments that you can stick onto your configurations

you can make 1-2 word comment on each node of the flowchart but it's a pain to do while trying to build something

"Constantly" and "just a little bit"? That's a contradiction in terms. A little bit in every episode isn't "constantly". He's also constantly using AE, and Blood Magic (which I'm not keen on).

Actually DW himself tweeted that the pack had been submitted several weeks ago and several people have been playing the closed beta version on twitch for a while, saying in one case that the new pack could be out as soon as this week sometime.

OK sounds like it probably is coming soon. Great! I want to see him do more with SFM. I appreciate that others don't, I hope he finds a way to keep everyone happy (at least with CC he could post his turtle programs for the codephiles among us, no such option with SFM sadly).

They are contradictory but if I changed the words, it'd probably make sense.

Yes, but in his Server Play series he is using SFM for automating everything which he does on camera... even if it is just automating one thing an episode

But we all know Dire automates everything. And I really would like to see him actually craft stuff by hand... Here's what I think would be a good change to his new season:
Applied Energistics, but no autocrafting (storage is a b***h, so you can't deny AE storage)
No SFM, automate stuff in more complex (in terms of building stuff) ways
Maybe allow Steves Workshop for auto-crafting, as that requires a little effort to set up, and it requires fuel to use.
Mystcraft void age has a hell of a lot of instability? (I'd like to see something nice for once)
Maybe deviate from 9x9 EVERYTHING... seriously, I am not a good builder, but at least I try an mix things up every now and again
Avoid ComputerCraft where possible (same reasons for SFM... it just makes automation too easy)
And maybe, JUST MAYBE, have extremely different power Gen methods... Y'know, like powering everything off of one power unit (using PneumaticCraft to convert EU/RF-MJ)

It just seems to be the same thing every time. And it gets BORING. I have no issues watching other YouTubers start a new series on the same pack, because they will usually go with the "I did this last time, so I am going to avoid it this time" mentality. But DW20 doesn't seem to do that. He just goes with what he knows, and doesn't like to experiment much (at least when it comes to power, and "basic" stuff)

I do think he's a great YouTuber, he shows newbies how to start out setting up certain things... But he shows the same thing (almost) each time. It'd be nice to go on a server and not see RailCraft IC2/RF power gen EVERYWHERE because that's what Dire does. I'd like to see people using Steves Carts 2 to make a wood farm, to get the charcoal, to power an air compressor or 20 which in turn convert bar into EU and RF... You know, something different, that take a little time and effort to get working.

I always enjoy Direwolf's videos, he does excellent work, and he's very consistent with uploads. Soaryn needs to finish xycraft, other than that, I am convinced the world would be a better place if he were made God-King.

I always listen to the full song when Rick Rolled, it never gets old. I don't mean to pull rank, but I was 15 when this song came out, and living in Australia for the year. I laughed at it when I first saw the video, and was immediately surrounded by a mob of angry Australians, all yelling at me. I feel somewhat vindicated now.
