One day I was wondering how I could fit a decent amount of dynamos in a reasonable space without wasting piping etc.

So I came up with this:

Each segment produces 480RF/t
Maximum amount of segments you can have in one "Engine" before wasting power is 20, because of the maximum throughput of the redstone conduits of 10k RF/t

It is either vertically scaleable or you can make it horizontal such as I have:

I have x4 10 segment "Engines" powering my base, producing 19200RF/t running on Ethanol.

Thoughts?

The way that conduits work is that the limit is on a per face basis. The conduits form a system with limitless transfer ability. When you see 80 rf/t on the leadstones it means that it will transfer 80 rf for every connection even if you have two engines on one side and two machines down the line. You are still thinking in mjs. Each pipe isn't an individual. Besides that it's a great design and I may even try to beat it ;)

I personally prefer this design

as it allows you to do this

I have slightly made a better version(s) of it.

I made them even on both sides so, like yours Yusunoha, they are able to be inter-twined.

This time I am using Ender IO's redstone conduit and energy conduit so the engines can be controlled by redstone to conserve fuel.
I am also using Extra Utilities transfer pipes as they are able to transfer more than 1 type of liquid at the same time.

Theres only so many ways you can arrange these things considering one side MUST face an energy conduit. Myself, I like to see them working so dont go for the super compact designs.

Yeah, I got my engines that was as well, its more compact like that, especially since you can then use the backside of the engine, to place some redwire, so you can control the engines.

I was using the agrarian skies pack, which sadly does not have the extra utility nodes enabled
my goal is always to build things as compact, efficient and cheap as possible
