I have 2 mods (4 technically, but 2 are NEI addons) that both need code chicken core. Chicken chunks mod works fine with the 1.7.10 version of Code chicken core, but NEI says it needs a version "1.0.6 or higher". How do I resolve this, no NEI is not an option for me.

Head over to ChickenBones's site and download that version of CodeChickenCore. It may be listed as either an alpha or beta.

Those are the various Minecraft versions that the mods are for. You need to choose your Minecraft version and it will list Chickenbones various mods, each with their own version number.

yeah I found out after you guys told me, apparently I visited like 3 websites for getting chicken core, but none happened to be the actual creator's website, which contained the multiple versions. It's all good now, I think

It's always best to find the mod Developer's page/github/repository. That's the only way to be certain you get the real current version, changelogs, or perhaps a beta intended to fix a problem you're experiencing.

In my experience, third party sites almost never have up-to-date data even if they have the Dev's permission to offer the mod. Those that don't have permission may even be "dirty", infecting your system with various types of Malware if not actually imbedding the Malware into the downloads themselves.

yeah, I had one dangerous encounter on Minecraft DL (I never trusted that site much to begin with), when attempting a download I got a warning that malware was detected, yikes
