I have built the portal beacon and have jumped through the portal several times, but every time my games crashes. Is this a bug or isn't my laptop powerful enough?

Hey all,
80% that I'm simply uneducated, but I'm having issues trying to turbocharge a pylon.
I've placed power crystals (8) on the pylon above the glowing rune blocks.
And I made my setup completely identical to what can be seen in reika's youtube video of a turbocharging pylon.
I'm confused about the direction regarding the 5x3x5 air centered under the pylon block... this is giving me confusion.
I feel like I've scoured the lexicon, however i could no find the information I want using V8g version of it. The third tab also just gives me "missing texture"
I have a ring of light, and i think im using the same blocks, but no avail.
If anybody can point me in the right direction, or point to me to a specific spot in the lexicon, any guidance would be awesome!

Do you have the necessary progress? As for the 5x3x5 of air, it has to be around each of the foci.

I installed Java 7 and changed the path to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe", but Minecraft won't start and I have no clue why. Sorry if I annoy you with stuff like this.

I have 8 of these energy focal points linking up these beams of light. If I looked at one of these focal points from a top point of view, would it be a 5x5 square centered on the focal point and 3 blocks deep? Or am I getting all of this wrong?
Also, does the need of progression apply to someone playing creative?

I'm having the same problem. Next achievement is the power crystals, but I can't make them since they're endgame and I can't progress there. /chromaresearch -3 lists "missing research for PYLONCRAFT: "DEATHPROOF" and "SPAWNERSEE", but all info fragments come up blank. Is there any way around this?
Odd crash to report: pressing either Page Up or Page Down with a Chromic Lexicon in your hand causes Minecraft to crash. Playing on 1.10.1 Infinity, with a few extras: AE2 Stuff, Mekanism, Magical Crops, Aroma1997s Dimensional World, Better Chests, Pressure Pipes, and Xeno's Reliquary, latest versions on all of 'em.

I'm not sure which ore it is, but I was mining in the nether and one of the ores I haven't unlocked yet, when I would mine it (or what looked like netherrack), the scrambled text would revert back to english for a fraction of a second right as it was being mined. It said something about teleporting. Hope that helps. If I payed close enough attention the whole text could be read so it affectively negates the use of the scrambled text.

so i was killed by a Crystal Pylon, and it never gave me a grave and all my items are gone, i was wondering if there was any way of getting them back without reverting to a backup of the server?
Quick Question regarding the lumen Tree.
I have finally built mine and for whatever reason my crystal network now deems it to be the source of all the power in the network, at least from what the repeaters are telling me.
Essentially when I form the lumen tree it gets one burst of energy then all the repeaters/multi-repeaters in the network decide to branch out from that. IE my 43 repeater away red pylon is no longer the source for the network. The Tree becomes the source (clicking a red repeater shows a distance of 1 for the one near the lumen tree). Am I doing something wrong or is this intended?
Also the leaves will not get any bigger unless I drain from them, then their maximum cap seems to improve, which is slightly odd but I think I know why that is the case.
Note I'm not sure this is a problem because the tree will still draw from the pylons constantly thanks to the power crystals
