You won't see it do anything unless it needs to draw power to create something. One way to test it is to make a storage crystal and the device that holds it, place the device on your table in the center of the complex, and insert the storage crystal into the device. If power goes in, you're good. If not, it's missing line of sight. At least that's how I tested it early on, heh.
Also, right-clicking a repeater with the manipulator. :p

Also, regarding that AMA that never really got finished:

Aaaah, thankee! I'll need to move the output chest to the side, though...been using it to make crafting go by a little quicker, lol.
I recommend putting it on top of the casting table because having an output chest on any of the sides will block line of sight to pylons on those sides.

Hi Reika!
I have begin Chromaticraft for some day now, but I'm stuck on my progression.
I've completed every "achievement" in the progression tab that I can do for now. The only achievement that left me to do is "Unity of the Elements", "Lumen Storage" and "Broadcasting". But these achievements ask me to craft a Crystal repeater or an Elemental core, but I don't have the fragment to craft them.
I've also craft everything that i could with my current knowledge (Crystal Star, pendant..), and level up my casting table at tier 4 (but i don't have the casting complexe fragment yet).
The only things that left me to do is the pylon surge protection ritual, on the ritual table, but i don't have any information to use it.

Did I missed something, or it is just a bug? And if you tell me I need to do more exploring, what do you mean by exploring?

And sorry for my bad english...

[Edit] My bad, i just discover that i missed a research. And awesome mod btw!

Has a bug ever been report, or is it even possible, for repeaters to cause a problem with chunks unloading. I have many chunks that are not unloading, and there is a line from my base going straight to a group of pylons. This isn't confirmed so I will be removing the repeaters in those areas to test, but I wanted to ask if that could even be released?

Line-Of-Sight checks require loading the chunks they pass through. However, these are only called if the chunk changes somehow, and the chunk will immediately unload again if the LOS check completes.

Hmmm I'll have to see if that is a problem in some way, I have my repeaters high in the air to avoid getting in the way of trees and such so that they would have a LOS

Well I can say it's almost definitely not chromaticraft. Sorry for jumping the gun. I have strange lines of chunks that are stuck loaded, and it looked like a line of repeaters. My bad.

Wireless transmission of RF to multiple machines? Hells yeah!

[ETA]

Made my first set of world rifts! I can use them to transmit lumens long-distance, instead of using a ridonkulous number of repeaters, yes? Even if I can't, I could use them to transfer a nuke's output to a base in my ocean dimension to enable massive RotaryCrafting of various varieties.

No, the network cannot go through World Rifts. However, yes, you can transfer shaft power, steam, and ElC power.

Would you ever have an interest of adding a highly expensive, endgame way of transferring lumens without relays?

The idea has been floated before, but from a utility standpoint it is worthless. You would need the repeaters to get the device, and then you do not need any other transport method.

Also, it would void the need for one of the new things coming with the dimension - repeater and pylon turbocharging.

Hmm I guess I saw it kind of as a stepping stone. I get completely what you mean. It would be nice to be able to connect another pylon to a network without needing to add alot of repeaters. Also teasers for v7, yay!

The only problem I see with how long range lumen transmission now, is how it's a tad risky in a public multiplayer environment. You are usualy only afforded limited protected space and some folks might destroy or steal your network. It's one if the reasons people opt for compact builds.
In single player this pylon long distance thing is not really a problem.

I thought of that when designing them. Repeaters can only be broken by admins or the owner.

And if someone decides to build something in the way of the beam?

Doesn't even have to be malicious. Maybe they didn't see the repeaters, or didn't know what they were/how they operate.
