Cobblestone, gravel, dirt, sand, flint(less the gravel, though), iron(you'll need it for RotaryCraft anyway), coal(why do I even use the stuff for anything other the crafting items that MUST use coal? Oh wait, I don't)...

I've tended towards using 4k drives for everything, I found 1k drives had just a little bit on the small side of storage for what i needed, but 4k drives work perfectly. Haven't had any need to make anything above a 4k drive for a long while

As a person who hasn't ever used RotaryCraft (sorry, too complicated), every time I see boring machine, I think they mean that the machine is boring

...Derp. Black Hole RING in a ALCHEMICAL CHEST. My thoughts are a bit muddled right now. Yeah, the Black Hole chest from Tubestuff is OP and fuck. Yes, One can use that term and not have it be subjecive for once. Infinite storage, 1 chest. Not even that expensive either, but what price would make it balanced?

I suspect that using it with AE will cause massive lag from AE having to constantly search through it. I haven't tried it though.

I never got that. I am great beliver in moderation when I have AE systems and any automated mining I have it stop when I reach certain level. If I have more than letss say 2k of each ingot it will auto stop and restart only when I get lower than that. I don't horde things just for a sake of having them.

It helps with few things as well:
I don't need that much storage
I don't put strain on server with constant mining ore processing etc.
I have lower energy needs as I don't operate my base 100% at the time.

So, to underline - recipe for cheap ME network is using cheap storage cells (mostly 1k).

Nobody needs that much of anything, there comes a point when you have to turn off the auto miner and find a use for all that stuff.

Well, you know how it happens, you need gold for that autocrafting machine (and a lot of other things) or generator array, but while you quarry for it you get lots of stuff you don't need right now but don't have the heart to throw away.

Funny, I have the exact opposite reaction -- I get worried when I see big numbers: "When am I going use all of that?!"

Ah, so you're stuck in a trap.

It used to be called the "power trap" where you would make more power for the sole reason of making more power, but you guys are hoarding resources to expand your harvesting abilities in order to hoard more resources. interesting.

There is not much options of what to do in endgame.
1. Pursue exponential growth of quarrying/energy speed.
2. Concentrate on another mod while enjoying semi-creative power you accumulated.
3. Play another modpack.

FTB severely lacks interesting endgame objectives.

Minecraft itself lacs objectives that's why we call it sandbox game.
As to end game for me getting resources is a start. I enjoy improving my design make my quarries work better. Make my energy self sufficient and less laggy, make my farms better etc. I enjoy building useful things and trying to come up with new design. Like right now I am building Aztec/Mayan style base and I will probably soon achieve self-sustaining power/mining/storage balance but by no means I am in the lat game for me that is still early game I will work on my base expand it and make it the way I was for weeks to come before I am satisfied with it. If you play for resources then yes FTB Lat's play series can be done with by ep 4, if you play with big project in mind you can be at ep 100 and still be nowhere near the end. You can play creative for 100's hours and not even scratch the surface of what you want to achive if you plan big.

Curiously, there are some end game objectives, added by mods. Reika's and Greg's Fusion Reactors. UU-matter. Gravity Suit when it was updated. Bees.

And those are only objectives made by mods. There are objectives that you make. Building a tower, that contains something. Or everything. Or that looks a specific way. Or perhaps replacing every block in your house with a diamond block. If you want end-game, trust me, it's out there.
