Hi all,

As I have been playing FTB for quite sometime, I mainly have played on FTB Ultimate (even to this day). I was wondering if anyone could suggest a more up to date version of FTB and modpack that would allow me to keep most of my world in tact and update me to a more recent version of MC.

Due to how mods work, and how it has changed over the years/versions, upgrading a modded world from one MC version to another is impossible.
You might(with considerable work most likely) be able to export some basic structures and import them into a new world. But any mod related items probably wont make the trip.

I appreciate the time to reply to me. I figured I'd ask incase someone knew of a quick and easy change from modpacks. I wish it was possible. I'd love to build with more current redstone abilities. So dated in the Ultimate pack.

You can keep playing Ultimate and play new packs too, assuming capable hardware, of course.

If you get the pack from Twitch it will create a separate profile and use the proper versions of Forge, etc.

What what!

With the twitch launcher? It will use 1.13.1 version of minecraft, and keep most my world intact?

Nope. What he means is that you can play different MC versions with different worlds at the same time. You don't have to give up on old worlds just because you want to try playing a new version.

If you want to run a 1.13 world it's a bit more involved... You have to create a custom profile to use 1.13.x, and it will be a vanilla profile since neither Forge nor mods (let alone packs) exist for 1.13 yet. Forge is being worked on; when that is released devs can start on new mods.

If you are currently using Ultimate via Twitch, it will have a separate profile that was generated when you installed Ultimate that contains the correct version of MC and everything for Ultimate.

If you want to try a 1.12 pack, say Sevtech, when you install it you'll get 1.12 MC + the proper Forge version + Sevtech mudpack.

All you have to do is decide what pack you want to play and click that profile.
