Me: I changed my mod pack!

Anyway. So, yeah. Changed my pack. Again. List is in the spoiler! Running quasi-comfortably on 4 gigs.
Thaumcraft may not stay. It depends. If that's causing the chunk boundaries (it shouldn't be) it'll have to go.

Can I just ask why? What did you miss / dislike? Also, I miss astral sorcery from your list! :p

I was spending too much time plundering roguelike and lost cities and not doing anything else. Also felt like for "rare" cities Lost Cities was taking over too much of my world (and possibly causing chunk problems). I also never really got into Astral Sorcery (I'm bad about putting mods in and never touching them). If I notice I'm not getting into a mod like I should or a mod is taking all of my attention, I'll take it out.

So, I, er... broke it. I don't know how this is even possible, but after I removed the cooking mods I had in, things got weird. When I load up the game, the camera that normally slowly sweeps around the sample world in the background wound up spinning like a top from top to bottom, getting faster. When I loaded a save, any time a movement key was pressed, the camera would just absolutely spazz out and do angles that aren't normally possible. So, I don't know what I did, but I have to build a whole new pack from scratch because I don't know what's causing this. Wooooooo..... = =

Not to mention most computers I've had balk at the idea of going over 4. 5 can sometimes be managed, but not always. Usually 5 is handled less efficiently for some reason (hits red on 5 when 4 doesn't have any problems).

The problem is persisting with a new modpack. I think I'll have to clean out my .minecraft folder and start fresh on everything. *sigh*

BetterFPS makes sense to me. I loaded vanilla and didn't have any problems. I'll take it out and see if that fixes it.

Edit because I never came back to update on this: yes, removing Better FPS fixed the problem. I installed FoamFix instead.

@The Mobius Archives has inspired me to make another modified R2R attempt. I've been using the Enigmatica 2 Expert modpack. Having vein-miner has made the process of gathering resources a lot less tedious in the earlier stages. I've just entered the Stone stage and have built our town's first walls around the town center.

Whew! I should probably get these updates going and check back in every so often. @Thes33 how are you finding Enigmatica 2 Expert for the challenge? I've thought about trying to switch over to a different pack and that seemed like it might have a few themes that would work with the challenge, especially the gating.

As for my own challenge:

Making a better place to sleep:

Adding a planning Hall

From this point I moved over to starting our Agricultural School outlier

Setting up the chicken coop. This will be where most of our resources come from in the near term.

@The Mobius Archives, The Enigmatica 2 Expert pack is great. It was particularly difficult with food at the beginning, because I had trouble dealing with lack of Dairy nutrition, which is unfortunately gated behind having access to iron buckets. Eventually, the Mining Fatigue de-buff got so annoying, that I went ahead and made a bucket to get milk.

Otherwise, the pack has plenty of great items and fun gear to keep me interested. Of course, I added Custom NPCs, otherwise the world seems a little too quiet.
I've just started the Iron stage and the village continues to grow.

2019-03-07_19.35.48.png

Here's a view of the military fortress and my personal manor (including a thaumcraft tower).

2019-03-07_19.36.01.png

Here's a view of the temple district, including three temples and the monastery that doubles as a hospital.

2019-03-07_19.36.15.png

Here's a view of the town, the wall had to be expanded a bit to add a few more buildings. The rest of the buildings for the Iron stage will be outside the walls, and a new wall will likely be built around the expansion.

2019-03-07_19.36.31.png

Here's a view of the southern side of the village, showing the mining district in the foreground. The agricultural district expands to the left.

2019-03-07_19.35.27.png

And, finally, another view of the manor house and the military fortress on the north end of the village.

2019-03-07_20.03.08.png

Also, here's a view of the map to see the village spread out.

Now that I'm working on the Agricultural school I decided to get a working classroom template:

Most of the classrooms in this school will be based around the same room template.

Of course, this was all around Christmas last year!

So I was playing around with getting a fireworks factory setup for the New Year.

Chickens were a key supplier for the fireworks components.

That brings us to making an Arborist classroom and playing with the Stone Hamlet acceptable parts of the Bonsai mod

Whew. I'll try to get these out more regularly. I have a lot of updates to catch up on.

Hi all,

I have finally come back to doing this after a long time away, last time I was looking at building my own pack with everything I could find, never got it working overly well unfortunately.... Anyway, I am now using the FTB revelations modpack, much like Mr. Mobius, with many added mods, a lot similar and a few different also.

I have recently reached the Wooden Settlement stage and am trying to work out what I want and need to build for my thriving village, so much to do...

I plan on streaming my progress occasionally, you can find my link in the spoiler below:
https://www.twitch.tv/wicked9090 Next stream will be approximately 7:30pm ACST - 3am PT - 11am CET

Hope all of your challenges are going well!!

@The Mobius Archives, I started looking into your "the Third" pack, that's the latest one, correct? I don't think I saw a list anywhere of what mods you added/removed/updated from the general Revelations release. I kinda figured Custom NPCs would make the cut, but I can't really tell without deep-diving what else you changed? I'm getting the itch to try again, and I'd rather not have to sort through all the mods out there all over again if you already found some good ones.

@Senseidragon Funny enough I started thinking about updating my list this morning. The big little one I wish I had during the Wooden Settlement phase is Astikorcarts. All the recipes require wood, and it makes having a horse just a little more convenient.

The rest of the list I'll go and collect for ya.

I think I remember that one from SevTech: Ages. It looked pretty cool, though I admit I didn't finish the pack. I got frazzled with it shortly after having to trek to the darklands to get some funky wood and then lost my way back to my original campsite. I was a little miffed. :)

So now that I'm back at my Stone Hamlet I did discover that the Silent Gems mods give more than just glowing flowers to keep the night terrors away.

That and I compiled my mod list for perusal. This is on top of FTB revelations.
