ive been wondering about this, to use with my steves carts fram, and the only thing i can think of is routers. however, they attach to multiple inventories so that will not work. please help!

If you're talking about extracting stacks of items all in one go, get yourself a wooden or emerald pipe and power it with MJ

The more MJ/t you send it the more items it pulls out in one go

really? i didnt know that. I just use wooden pipes with an autarcic gate and it pulls really slowly.
Yup, because autarcic gates sacrifice speed for compactness

Chuck a real engine on it (so not a redstone engine) and it will start pulling out higher amounts, Not sure how much MJ/t you'll need.

Redstone energy cells from Thermal expansion work quite nicely as well

Or you could use a machine filter in the router and program it to only interact with one type or single inventory.

Automatic Wooden Transport pipe with Aut.Diamond OR gate, all with (in inventory has items) -> (extract items) or (energy pulse) for all 8 entries. Should be pretty fast.

I wouldn't expect telling the Automatic Wooden transport pipe to pump 8 times will do any difference. And iirc the pipe pumps at a pace of 2 redstone engines. Even that x8 is nothing compared to a single standard Electric engine.

or even a single stirling engine

Redstone engines pump at a rate of 1MJ/s
whilst a stirling engine pumps at a rate of 1MJ/t (20x faster)

A simple and relative fast way without fuel/energy is a normal wooden pipe, autarchic gate pulsing(equivalent to around 8 redstone engines) and then 4 redstone engines around the pipe(Leave the engines running all the time, they pump faster the hotter they get). It should move around 12 items per sec roughly. Else I prefer a single electric engine controlled by a gate listening for items in inventory. Depending on how often items need to be moves, 1-2 solar panels and a batbox should be able to keep it running.

Oh, as Adonis0 mentioned, you can power the pipe with a Redstone energy cell. Seems to work quite well. It does consume Mj continuously though, but that can ofc be remedied with a gate turning the cell on and off.

oh, of course, and i could also edit the MJ used in the output options. the only other thing that i have considered is using a commercial steam engine on one, because i have a boiler based power system.

you can use a autarchic diamond gate and have multiple energy pulsers active

if there 8 active it will pull out a stack at the time
I said that too but rhn said otherwise. /shrug
If BC is available, I would use the diamond aut. gate method instead for compactness.

Nah I was trying to say that activating the Automated Wooden transport pipe multiple times would make much different I thought.
But does an autarchic gate pulsing multiple times really work? Always assumed that a gate could only really pulse once.

Edit: No your right, it works, just tested it. An iron autarchic gate pulsing 2 times is twice as fast as a normal autarchic gate. Seems a bit OP, but very handy.
