Windows .exe Can't launch 1.6 Packs

Description of the problem:

This is happening on my brother's laptops and I was wondering if anyone could help me with it. All the 1.5 packs launch and work fine but after launching a 1.6 pack the download progress bar will show, finish downloading and it will sit there doing nothing until we just close the launcher. We've tried leaving it for about a half hour and it still just doesn't do anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated, we've been trying to get it working for for a while now.

Thank you for posting in the correct format. However, it looks like your log was removed. Please repost it. They normally get removed after 12hours, or was it 24?, unless you register with pastebin.com. Look here for more info.

The new packs do take a while to load even on fast machines. Sometimes the progress bar and console looks like it is not doing anything, but as long as you do not see any errors after the part about 'retaining mod pack file', not the exact words, then let it finish loading. Try leaving it on overnight if you have to.

Thanks, now your logs should only get delete if you wish them to. The above part makes me wonder if you have multiple folders for FTB. Please try following the basic troubleshooting guide carefully and precisely. Then post a new log. The error could be a Java error so please reinstall that as well by following the guide.
