Can't join servers

I can't join any server i have tried to join many servers and use different versions but i can't join anyone know the problem?

What's the error message that appears on the screen when it fails to connect?

Are the servers white listed? If so, are you on the list?
Are you running the exact version of the modpack as the server? Including any added or removed mods?

If there's a red X then there is at least 1 incompatible mod that your using that the server is not/different version. Are you using the default mods for the pack or do you manually update?

The perfect, undecipherable cryptic error message... "a long text"

Sounds kind of like Soaryn the other night unpacking his Loot Crate... He got a comic book and said something like "I'll never read this... It's too long a book" to the stream.

Knowing what that "long text" says is half the battle of user support.
