Can't generate random mystcraft worlds?

So I cannot seem to create a mystcraft age without using a symbol page thing and a book binder. How to I make a descriptive book without having to use pages and how do I copy pages. I ask these things because on the FTB Ultimate pack recipes appear to have been changed but the wiki and mod page remain unchanged. Can anyone please help?

Think you can make a book by adding just one blank page. Then it will generate random things to fill out the age. If you get instability you can survive, then you go look for pages in that world.
