Can't equip backpack

I crafted a backpack from the backpack mod but whenever I try to equip it in my chest slot it doesn't work. Is this a bug or just a default configuration?

It doesn't go in your chest. Has its own slot, sneak and hit the backpack key, b by default.

Thanks, I just tried it and it worked. Guess that I'm used to an older version.

Just a note; if you shift and right click a block with an empty hand the backpack will be placed.

I believe that's the backpack from the Better Storage mod, but I think OP was talking about the backpacks from the Backpacks mod...

Yeah it is, and the Backpack mod backpacks work like forestry bags; right click, open GUI. the BetterStorage one is the one that appears on the user and isn't available through right click (unless it is someone else's, or on the ground).

I believe it was possible in older versions to actually equip backpacks from the Backpacks mod onto your armor slot, I know this because I've actually used it like that before...
and having just checked the config file for Backpacks...

    # ##############
    # If true you can only open a backpack that you wear in your chest slot
    # ##############
    B:openOnlyWornBackpacks=false

so it should be possible to equip the backpacks...

Eh, with it set to false there is really no reason to equip those backpacks. And regardless, those aren't the backpacks OP was talking about, otherwise he *would* be able to equip it to his chest piece.

I have the same problem im using the 1.7.10 though but holding shift and pressing the backpack button doesnt work
