Why I can't connect pipes to Geothermal Generator ? This is bug ?

that does not look like a machine.... can I see the face if that?
Not sure the item held is a geothermal generator.

Might be worth noting that if a machine from Industrial Craft is moved it will drop the machine block that was used to craft it instead. It is best to use a wrench in lossless mode to move machines from that mod. Most likely the machine needs to be re-crafted.

I would agree, except he's in creative mode in the screenshot.

Minecraft version 1.6.2? Not sure if that version of IC2 permitted piping of lava into geothermal, can't remember when that was implemented.
thry still allow. check yogscast videos waaayyyy back in minecraft alpha. they still do.(psst tekkit videos)

Q: Is there any reason to use Minecraft v1.6.2 instead of say, v1.6.4 ? I remember v1.6.4 to be the stable default until v1.7.10 became a thing.

1.5.2 -> 1.6.4 -> 1.7.10 -> 1.8.9 -> 1.9.???

Don't think there's really reasons to use other versions
