I have a windows 8 ASUS laptop from end-year 2012 with:
-444gb of ram (quite the number, am I right?)
-4gb of RAM (3.89 avalable)
-64-bit processor
-Intel Pentium CPU B980 @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz processor
-1366x768 resolution
-Intel(R) HD graphics card

Can my laptop handle FTB, and if so what should I put the settings to on the launcher?

Welcome. Sorry I really dislike these types of posts. There are so many setups and other things that might play a factor in the ability to run a game.

What did you mean to type in the first number? Obviously you have 4GB or RAM not 444GB. 4GB might be okay, but I'm more concerned with the graphics card.

This is an integrated graphics card and they do not handle minecraft let a lone mods very well. Why not just test it out? Unless you are wanting check it out before you buy minecraft and that is why you are asking. If that is correct you can test out your machine with the vanilla minecraft demo first. If it can run that well you might be able to run with mods, but with lowered graphics.

No, i've played minecraft and technic packs for a long time. its just that feed the beast tends to have a massive toll on my computer, more of that than vanila or technic

Just a couple of questions and some thoughts.

You said you've played Technic before for what version of minecraft was it? With the 1.3 update it caused minecraft to run a server on your client and connect to that virtual server inside your computer if you were playing SSP.
I do not know if Techinc has(d) world generating mods in them. Mods like Extra Biomes or Biomes O' Plenty. If they do not then that could explain a lot.
Obvious question, but still want to ask, you are using the same laptop you used for Technic, vanilla and FTB?

As for what you can add or do to get better performance. You could try adding java arguments to the launcher from this thread. Adjusting them as needed by following the spoilers in the thread. Updating all the drivers you can. I know you have a laptop and drivers are not priority one for laptop manufacturers, I know I have a laptop as well. Update your Java and follow the recommended installation guide, links for updating Java provided in the guide. You could try disabling some of the world gen mods, see above for which ones I mean, or some of the mods in general that you do not use. Finally you could try importing the pack into the MultiMC launcher, it has less over head than the FTB launcher.
