Hey guys!

I have a modpack which I use on a server and also distributed amongst friends who play on the server with me. It has around 46 mods which can be seen here(http://imgur.com/rqppsM7). I look forward to adding a few more mods to this modpack. These are the mods that i wish to add:-

1) Fast Leaf Decay
2) EnderIO
3) Thermal Expansion
4) Thermal Foundation
5) Morpheus

Can I add these mods to both my modpack and the server and still be able to play without any issues. Our server's world contains builds and stuff becasue it is an smp, do I HAVE TO make a new world or can I play using my pre-existing server world, regardless. Any help is good :D

Thanks!

You should be able to add this mods but you'll need to add whatever core/libs they need and explore new chunks for whatever ores didn't exist before

Morpheus is server sided, I think, so you may not have to have each client load it. Adding the others in shouldn't be too harmful, although you will likely need to retrogen the ores for them (available in the COFHcore config) if those ores aren't already in play from other mods.

I highly recommend tuning your ore spawning using the json files included in COFHcore, as it will help to unify multiple ore types from each mod (like 5 variations of copper ore, for instance, would all spawn as whatever mod's copper you choose -and at the quantities and depths you tell it to). This helps to clean up the underworld as well as helping to make storage systems easier to accomplish.

I did a server reset and started from scratch. However, CoFH core has 6 json files. The only ones which make sense to me are ThermalFoundation-ores.json and Vanilla.json.
There are 4 other .json files(a-primary.json, b-secondary.json, c-tertiary.json and d-spatter.json) From all my research, ThermalFoundation-ores.json generally has the data stored for all the ores it adds and their properties etc. In my case, ThermalFoundation-Ores.json was completely empty except for the {}. I copied the default content of the .json file from a Git source and pasted it but I'm not sure if it worked or nah. The ThermalFoundation Ores definition was however, present in the other 4 .json files(a-primary.json, etc). But finding it didnt help because all the 4 of them have data related to ores spawning. For instance, The difinition for Copper Ore(ThermalFoundation) was present in all the 4 files. And there was something to do with the axis(?) x,y,xy,xz. What are these 4 .json files for? Why was my ThermalFoundation-ores.json empty?

I've fixed it but still curious. :p

Thanks for all your help guys :D

I'm not sure. My experience has shown only two files (Vanilla and Thermal Expansion). It is possible the COFH team are still tweaking the way it is set up, making it easier for people to file their changes by y level. As I said, I've not played with it since building my current pack.

Perhaps @King Lemming could shine some light on it for us?

Morpheus will work just on the server, having it on clients doesn't hurt and would make Morpheus features available if someone decides to play single player and open their game to LAN. It doesn't add any blocks or items so can be added/removed from your instances without worrying about damaging your save/world.
