I was assembling a modlist for me and my friends, would anyone mind commenting on this list? Right now it's too big so I'd like in narrowed down, but recommendations are welcome.

After the advice of the people on this thread, the list currently looks like this.

Just some recomendations. Things that add very little like Torch Levers and Streak probably aren't needed. Personally, I'd replace Better Storage with Iron chests unless you just want the aesthetics.

Just realised how right you are. I don't need most of these. I think I'll keep Dartcraft, Underground Biomes, ATG, Nether Ores. My friends will want me to keep Buildcraft but other than that I think it'll mostly go.

Edit: I'm curious as to why you're telling me to remove Calclavia Core but no UE mods?

Edit 2: I prefer Better Storage to Iron Chests for aesthetics.

I'd recommend to keep obsidian plates if you'd ever use them. Player-only pressure plates are a godsend, and the ability to hide them and make them unclicky can make for some impressive hidden doors.

Noted. I think I'm likely to save a lot more mods than I realised at first.

Most of the rest of those mods that Demo listed are ones I, myself, removed. Variety may be the spice of life, but sometimes too much makes for a lot of unneeded duplications. And unneeded server load.

Hmm. Maybe add MineTweaker, but only if you actually need to 'tweak' some of the recipes for your own balance reasons.

I meant to leave in Dartcraft/ Calclavia Core. I just copied your post then removed stuff. Much easier than typing it all out.

I revised the list. I removed about 20 mods, but not everything Democretes suggested. Or I said I would. I changed it in the OP.[DOUBLEPOST=1389388733][/DOUBLEPOST]

Only you can answer that question. Is it too big for you? If not, then no, not too big. If so, then yes, and you gotta look at what you want/need the least.

Damn, that's a good answer. I want to say it looks fine, but my server might lag and I wouldn't want that. That list has more mods than FTB and probably RR - that makes it seem as if I'm daring to make a bigger modpack which is something no public pack does. Therefore it's not the norm, and perhaps I shouldn't deviate from that...

My own pack is currently hovering right around 110 mods. Occasional server lag, but only really during heavy terrain gen. But I also am trying for a particular vision with mine, which really helps narrow things down.

My vision was that the only power system was going to be RF and I was gonna disable all MJ engines and power transport as an excuse to keep ExtraBees.

Yay, the Erebus is on there :3.

Removing Dynamic Tanks 2 might be useful, you have RC Tanks and Open Blocks Tanks, and probably a bunch of other liquid storage options in all the other mods. It seems unneeded.
Pams Harvestcraft + Agriculture = overkill (I believe Pams HC adds a bunch of foods?). You'll probably never need that many food options.

I've not gone quite that far as I have RotaryCraft installed as well, but those two are flawlessly convertible through RotaryCraft's built in converters. I did manually disable the Railcraft steam engines, though, which is thankfully quite easy.

You're welcome. It looked really cool and I want to really get into it.

As for Dynamic Tanks I personally want to keep it for it's non-tank related features. Admittedly I've never tried the mod, but don't these features sound cool?
- In world placeable potions!
- Liquid Nitroglycerin (Liquid TNT)
- Infinite Potions! (Sort of)
- Mystic Forest!

As for Harvestcraft, it's never been on the list. I think people have been reading Pam's and assume I added Harvestcraft. I added some plant mods as I like flowers.

I haven't used RotaryCraft yet but I was under the impression it was fully compatible with RF. I thought all machines could accept conduits in one of the more recent updates and the mods generators could generate RF. Am I misinformed?

It is fully compatible, yes, but not at the machine level. There are machines that flawlessly convert RF to Torque, and the reverse as well, but RotaryCraft machines only input or output Torque.

Oh. Makes me unsure of it now. I think I'll keep it in the meantime though.

I hope you will also enjoy the upcoming Erebus update which nerves OP armor stuff and buffs mobs in a variety of ways. Death shall be common if you don't immediatly jump into othermodly strong armor ;).

I fear I probably will use other mod armour. But when I explore the Twilight Forest I always stick with vanilla gear to start. I'll try to do that for the Erebus if that's what you reccomend.
