I'm trying to pump up an oil geyser, but my pump keeps stopping after about 7 blocks down (the pipe disappears). Have the pumps been nerfed in the new version (6.0.18), and if so, what's the alternative for pumping out an underground reserve?

There is no limit to depth. Are you sure it stops pumping? The pipe disappearing could be a visual glitch.

Yeah, it stops pumping, and a gate even reads it as "work done". :\ And then, after about a minute, the pipe starts coming out of the bottom uf the pump again, and then when it gets close to the oil, it disappears again. Later, rinse, repeat.

Is there another fluid around? If you are in the ocean, isolate the oil by building a column from the floor to the surface with only oil inside. The pump may be picking up the alternative fluid and getting confused.

It's far above the water, not even getting halfway down the geyser.

Yes, I have tried breaking/replacing, and it's getting constant power from a sterling engine.
