NOTICE: Map initial release has been delayed due to a major bug in the item detection system and command blocks. I have taken the decision to skip releasing the "pre-alpha" stages of the map, for the moment as they are virtually un-playable and riddled with bugs, therefore the alpha release date will be more than likely be pushed back to 3/4 of Jan (sorry but at least it will be playable and i will make it look nicer). I will be adding a changelog etc after the initial release and will also very shortly start work on the multi-player version of the map in which I am planing on adding some very intense mechanics allowing you to break your opponents machine.
What is Build the Beast?
Build the beast is based off the original Feed the beast maps but with a twist. In this game type YOU are the map Building team and YOU have to build the beast, but its not that simple, the FTB game itself is already happening and YOU only have 1 HOUR to get the entire beast built. There are some helpful guides along the way with interactive command blocks and a "beast" manual which should allow most experienced players to at least complete the map.
Why Choose Build the Beast?
Build the beast is one of those maps which isn't made to be played once, it is hard, very hard but using trial error and seeing what works well you can bring your time (to build an entire FTB sorting system) down to around 40-50 mins (yes 1 person). The map is limited to one hour and so is made for quick snappy game play and decisions however the results and amusement of this map well exceed the 1 hour time limit. You will NEVER make a perfect beast, you will NEVER have the fastest system out there, but that's what will keep bringing you back. The challenges and possibilities of live competitions or head to head are endless, and I personally think this isn't a new map, its a total new Genre.
How good do I need to be?
To actually be able to beat the map, you have to be good, really good, but to play the map and just have fun, all you really need is a very very basic understanding of how things work, remember you can always try again and improve on last time. The map isn't blown up or anything when you finish so you can always fly back and go and see what went well or improve your design.

Worked a hell of a lot over past 2 days
- Totally remade map from scratch
- Inserted pyramid from insanity map (edited so interior is empty and exterior is just the pyramid)
- Set up New output for the items into the playing area
- Set up small secondary sorting system to detect what output is from player
- Made and connected spawn to the pyramid
