Had a few questions about BoP.

I am contemplating dumping it, as it is creating quite a few comflicts with another mod I was interested in testing that had a lot of biomes as well, but also had a fair bit or world gen, and blocks that it added to the game.

But I was curious, is there anything that BoP brings to the table exactly, besides the added biomes? Anything from it that works well in conjunction with other mods such as ic2, binnies mods, etc?

Mulling real hard over which one to use, and I am leaning towards the other mod (LotR, which also adds a dimension), but I'm not really sure of what BoP brings to the party.

Appreciate any, and all insight :)

BoP adds another dimension called the promised land IIRC. You need to visit a specific set of biomes from the BoP mod and find an array of native gems from each. This crafts into a wand that you can use to summon a floating island with a portal to said dimension. I dont like that dimension frankly, its way laggy and my system generally doesnt lag (unless I really try).

I like BoP if only for the canyon biome. Its where me and the people on my server settled together. It adds some really nice biomes to the nether. When I explore in Tinkers Const it makes finding ardite and cobalt less of a chore as the scenery changes from place to place. It adds a few mobs too IIRC like nether wasps.

Wow, that's the first I've heard of a Lord of the Rings mod. It looks pretty interesting.

Personally, I feel that Biomes o' Plenty is too whimsical. I prefer Highlands Biomes mod for interesting places to live.

The LOTR dimension probably isn't affected by other biome mods, though, as I presume it (like the nether) can only spawn biomes on its dimension specific biome list.

The concern might be that there are biome ID conflicts, but you can easily look in the BoP and LotR configs and adjust their default values (I believe biome IDs go up to 256, so there should be room).

Edit: To further address your concerns: Nothing from other mods works in BoP but fails in Vanilla biome gen (except I think that maybe Blizzes from Thermal Expansion are a little more work to find, since snow blocks don't form naturally in vanilla, but that's easy to remedy if you need Blizzes).

I was updating and testing my pack/server, visited the deep dark, and found a Blizz down there. It was an "Alps" biome within the deep dark, no snow blocks anywhere. Blizz spawning seems "odd" to say the least.
