So I finally started Beyond. I was playing Skyfactory 3 and we were busy moving. I got my Quartz Grindstone. And my TCon Hammer as per usual. And I was wondering? Whats the best power option in Beyond early game? Skyfactory 3 was my first 1.10.2 gameplay so I really don't know what's currently available. I know Canola is good, along with Lava as per usual. Whats your recommendation?

for early game, AA coal generators produce a whopping 180 RF/T, compared to the average 20 or so RF/T of other coal generators. but other than that, yes, canola is great early game, giving 100 rf/t, and is decently easy to automate early on

Not to mention easily improving the output efficiency by raising the tier(s) of oil used.

Our server used Culinary Generators burning Stuffed Eggplant as our first serious power gen. An Immersive Engineering Diesel Generator was added as we progressed through that mod. After we poked a Wither for Woot purposes, we set up a single Woot Factory spawning the Wither feeding a battery of XU Netherstar Generators for the rest of our play through. A single Woot Factory (even without upgrades) can generate WAY more stars than it takes to make one. After that, infinite power was upon us.

Probably will go to Enderman Woot in the future. I automated tier 3 canola without XNet or any fancy redstone. Just need to get the seeds being reconstructed automated.

Nothing super original to add really, but yeah I found the crystallised Canola oil was very easy to automate, and that got me far enough to then look into IE diesel. Once you've got a decent amount of steel, that's a very effective method - cloches with melons work well because if you run the whole melons through a TE sawmill you get plenty of slices, then send half the slices to be turned into seeds in the squeezer and the other half to the fermenter.

Also, point of note: the IE ethanol (from the fermenter) will also go into the Forestry Bio Generator to make EU - that's a nice simple and expandable method of generating Industrialcraft power.
