I was wondering what is the best, end-game way to get tons of ore?

Currently using TPPI mod pack.

Also, bonus points for providing links to pictures, guides, set-ups, tips, etc to any suggestions for mining automation.

I personally go with MFR laser drills
Else the Rotary craft sonic bore is a pretty high performer

Other options that are still good are the ender quarry, digital miner or even a regular quarry

What makes those methods the best? Also, I've got decent power production but I don't feel like its anywhere near enough for 1 MFR laser, let alone multiple. Any tips on power excess power generation?

There is no objectively best
MFR is a set and forget resource gatherer, so that's why I like it
The sonic bore can get very VERY powerful, but it's a pain to make the power to run it

Ender quarry is convenient, low power use, but slowish, same with digital miner and a regular quarry

power generation, a big reactors reactor is very good for power

ReactorCraft feeding into an ElectriCraft battery, or direct conversion with a Rotational Dynamo.

As for mining, several boring machines will do what you need (RotaryCraft), or several backpacks and right click with a Bound Pickaxe with some sort of item magnet like the Sigil of Magnetism (Blood Magic). Last one isn't automatic, but it gets enough resources it doesn't need to be.

Thanks, i'll look more into those reactors but a few quesitons on your other suggestions.

How/why is the bore that great? It seems slow, has problems with needing fuel, and it has very limited range, meaning it won't collect a varity of ores, just the ones at the level you place it at.

As for the bound pickaxe, I don't know too much about the mod so perhaps a more indepth explanation?

if time is not a huge issue, get a quarryplus enchanted with silk touch, efficiency and unbreaking, mark out a 256x256 plot with MarkerPlus-es and just set it working.

The boring machine, when given enough power, can bring in a ton of resources. AFAIK, it will continue mining for as long as it has enough torque to break through whatever it hits. Reika runs 36 of these, and needs about 14 extractors running at full speed to keep up with the total ore income. Pair a few of these with a reactor and you'll be set on resources for a while.

The Bound Pickaxe, when right clicked, clears a 20x20x20 area (or close to that) at the cost of some LP. So while not automatic, it clears a large enough area to fill your inventory, and still have drops left over.

Oh! I was thinking of a Tunnel bore, whoops. Completely different machines.

Would you happen to have any links to set-ups or resources I can browse?

Give me a few minutes to dig around my news feed here, I'll edit this post with some links to pictures of setups.

Edit: 36 boring machines, powered by ElectriCraft

Link to part 1 of Reika's second world tour. I suggest watching all three parts, you'll learn quite a bit about RotaryCraft and ReactorCraft this way.

Thanks. Also, I heard about this other mining machine that uses mining wells and the MFFS? I was curious if it was any good or if you knew anything about it.

I've heard of ME Transition planes being used with MFFS to create some interesting mining setups, which appeared to be quite successful. Bevo did this in his last RR play through, and it was a very cool setup. I personally haven't messed with MFFS enough to comment on it, but I know there are several people here that have. I've also edited by previous post with two links to some of Reika's content, since the best way to learn about a mod is from it's creator.

Yeah, given enough power, these things are nuts. Couple other bonuses:
1) You can leave them forever: they mine sideways, so you're not forever shifting them to a new location.
2) You can enchant them. Silk Touch and Efficiency for instance ensures you can Extract what you mine, and do it faster.

the mffr miner is a complex build but once set up it isplace and forget about it...well in 2 days you will probaly turn it off after you have 100,000 diamonds and made a scar in the landscape 3000 blocks long by 128 blocks

Will have pics later, but mffs miner at highest level in the deep dark with transition planes in front and 256 mining wells. I made it way to tall and ended up needing like 2048 transition planes. With 4 tesseracts for the mining wells moving a total of 240000rf/t and another tesseracts with 1krf/t for the AE system there.
