I have an issue or it could be a simple problem which could be resolved easily.

I have been breeding bees for a few days now and I've come to a standstill.

My issue is that if I have a Imperial-Noble hybrid princess and breed it with another Imperial drone it doesn't produce the imperial drone/princess but produces a noble.
Also I have a corroded- tolerant hybrid princess, I want to know how to remove the tolerant so I can have a pure bred so what bee do I breed the corroded-tolerant hybrid with to ensure I receive a pure bred corroded.

Hope I can get some help

Thanks

You can keep trying to breed out the hybridness (new word) or you can use the extra bees machines to manipulate the Bee DNA (BNA).

Suggest you youtube extra bees machines, it's how I learnt and there's some good vids on it.

In a nutshell use the bees in an isolator and try and get the bee breed "researched" then you can use the inoculator to inject that breed into any bee which will remove the hybrid. But I suggest you don't bother with that, if you've had a quarry running then you're probably swimming in rocky bees, if not go get some. They are pretty decent bees to turn into other species since they have all the flyer/cave/nocturnal traits already.

I'll have a look at the extra bees machines. So I can't breed them with a common or cultivate to remove their hybrid from the Corroded or the Imperial?

I think the word your looking for is hybridization :p

As for the actual topic when breeding them myself I found a good way to get rid of hybridization was use either the frames that promote mutation (I think soul frames) and breed it with another one with the species you want and that will often result in a pure breed.

So If I use my Imperial-noble princess and breed it with a Cultivated-Imperial drone with soul frames I should get a better chance of getting a pure bred but I thought that you can also use chocolate frames so it gets rid of the hybrid because it kills the bees off quicker.

Confirm?

Soul frames won't help in one generation, you will get majestic at best (cultivated with noble). In this situations I'd use chocolate frames, but it also depends on fertility.

Awesome, I have 4 Imperial Queens. My other issue is my corroded princess, what do I breed with that bee. I don't have a drone for that. So what should I do so I can get the Princess and Drone?

Thanks for all the help so far :)

so with hybrids you can get three possible outcomes, Pure of Imperial, another hybrid, Pure of noble. It is a random chance what you get and the more drones you get the better your chances are to see all of the possible outcomes. The trick is picking a drone that promotes the traits you want to see in the next resulting princess. Soul frames only help with mutations that create new species, such as mixing a Common bee with a hive bee using a soul frame you have a greater chance that Cultivated will show up.

Now if you take your Imperial/Noble Princess and breed her with an Imperial drone you have a greater chance she will turn out imperial but there is still a chance she will be a hybrid. If the princess turns into a noble the only thing I can think is that the drone wasn't analyzed and might have had a noble mix, or the resultant princess was Noble/Imperial.

As for your Corroded/Tolerant bee you will want to try to breed another Corroded drone with her or a hybrid that has a Corroded in the mix. If you only have Tolerant you might need to breed again and hope that the trait stays and you get more drones that have Corroded. Again a bee with higher fertility that generates more drones will give more bees to work with and better mix of possibilities.

All of the above advice is useful if you continue down the natural path, otherwise the Extra Bee machines can also help you.

Corroded is all done so is the Imperial, now my issue is that I can't produce copper combs because the corroded bees lifespan is short so therefore do I need to use the extra bees or breed it with another bee or is their a simpler way?

Extra bees is the most guaranteed way to get the traits you want though with none of the machines already set up it can take quite a lot of time to reach the point of being able to do what you want. Cross breeding the bees to add the traits is a lot more risky as you run a risk of losing your pure breed princess or you could get what you want from one or two breeds. Its kind of up to you to decide if you want to take the risk or not.
