I recently got into bee breeding in the Mindcrack pack, and I built myself a nice building from which to do my breeding. Being unfamiliar with bees prior to building the base, I built it in a green hills biome. Now I realize this may have been a mistake because it has normal temperature but damp humidity. It has become quite a pain to acclimatise every bee I put in an apiary so it can handle damp conditions.

The base I've built is quite large and intricate, so I'd like to avoid having to rebuild in a new biome, but at the same time, I don't think I can handle acclimatising every bee for the rest of my days. Is there anything I can do to solve this issue besides using MCedit to change the biome of my base to a forest? I'm not against this option, but I've never used MCedit before so I'd like to see if there's anything else I can do before jumping into that.

Thanks in advance.

Build auxiliary bases in different biomes to breed bees in. You will ultimately want to do that anyway, as some bees can only be bred or work in a specific environment.

I guess that could work. Was I correct when I said that a forest has normal temp and normal humidity? That's what I need most right now.

Bee breeding requires access to a wide variety of biomes, including specific ones.

You will have the easiest time if you build your bee breeding core on the border of a Plains and Forest biome.

I'm having a problem that is tangentially related to this, and I think it's a bug. After just upgrading to MindCrack 8.1.1, some of my bees don't seem to want to work in Extrabiomes anymore. For instance, I have an Austure Queen that gives me a Hostile Environment error in the Savanna biome, but works fine in the Desert biome, which is identical (Hot/Arid). Even more curious, I have a Resilient Queen that will work in a Meadows biome, while an Imperial Queen won't. What gives?

Long term, it doesn't matter. Once you get a handle on tier3 Extra Bees machines you can take BOTH_2 humidity and temp tolerance from the Rocky line of bees and apply them to any bee you care about. You can also do it with a tier2 acclimatizer, but not worth the effort IMO

Even Arid bees will work in Damp environments, if they have DOWN_2 or BOTH_2. Temp is a wider range so is more of a concern, and you're already in Normal - which means for Nether bees you're going to need an Alveary with a warmer, even with tolerances. I've grown to believe that, long term, Jungles are best. Warm/Damp means you can work any bee except the wintry line just by modifying tolerances. And the wintry line is of little real interest, unlike the nether bee lines. (A Warm/Normal biome would be even better, but I don't know of one, and desert/savanna style Hot/Arid is definitely worse)[DOUBLEPOST=1361255729][/DOUBLEPOST]

Odd, I've been running 2.0.0.9 - the Forestry in MindCrack 8.1.1 - for awhile because it fixed an Alveary bug, and it actually fixed that problem I was having with 2.0.0.3 (the version in 8.0.1)[DOUBLEPOST=1361255797][/DOUBLEPOST]

Really it's only the Rural and the Demonic line that are biome specific - and the latter require Nether so it doesn't matter where you setup.
