It looks pretty in large tanks.

It has an actual use too, as indicated in the above comment, but I'm not sure of the specifics, as I mostly use forestry for the trees.

ProTip: Only use the higher tier machines, the low tier is a waste of time and resources.

Anyway, basically, just stick your bees and serums into the isolator to get random traits and stuff. Varning, your bee can vanish.

duplicate the serum, then purify it.

After that you can use it in the inoculator.

Make sure to ALWAYS, ABSOLUTELY ALWAYS, WITHOUT FAIL, use the highest quality serums.

The isolator runs purely off of MJs (up to 50mj/t iirc) and extracts the traits of bees as serums with a chance to kill the bees and puts it into serum vials, made from royal jelly, glass panes, and gold. Because of this, only drones should be used for isolating. The resulting serums will be empty and of average quality. A synthesizer can be used to fill the vial, up to 16 charges, but this lowers the quality. Using low quality serums on your bees can have adverse effects. A synthesizer runs at up to 50 mj/t iirc. A synthesizer also requires liquid DNA to run. To increase the quality of your serums, a purifier is used. It consumes up to 100 mj/t and also requires liquid DNA. An inoculator is used to inject serums into bees. It will never destroy the serum, but will use up charges. More than one charge is usually required to inoculate a trait.

One of my favorite techniques is to manually breed a species until I have enough drones to isolate the species serum. I then put that serum into a pair of rocky bees, which by default, have great temperature and humidity tolerances, as well as the ability to work at night, without sunlight, or during rain. I also put fast productivity onto them.

Using bee serums is actually a lot easier than manually breeding duplicate bees once you get the hang of it. By the sound of it, you already have an industrious bee and drone pair. Just let them run in an apiary loop for a while until you have a couple of extra industrious drones. Throw the drones into the leftmost section of the isolator. One should automatically be fed into the slot directly to the right of that. Empty serum vials go into the single slot on the right. Just let the machine run for a bit until you get the vial labeled "industrious species serum." If you get serums that you don't want, you can toss them into a furnace or other smelting device and get the empty vials back.

Just synthesize and purify the species serum, inoculate it into a pair of bees, and bam, a new pair of industrious bees.

it'd be nice if there'd be more uses for bee dna, for example perhaps making swarmer princesses out of it?

well,to be honest i want bees for their pollination, their other traits are welcome, just not necessary to me,for example nether bees

Ah, just get aura bees for polination. That's a fairly low hanging fruit, don't even have to bother with genetics overmuch.

OTOH once you started, why not just go with it? Bees can produce rare and useful substances, like rubies and titanium.

I am pretty well seated in the industrious bees tree, but i will get a hang of other bees as soon as i get royal jelly to make some serums
