I just utilize my mouse and use the "S" key to go 'backwards', but in reality, 'forwards' if I had the W key.

No right click/left click or however you can interact with blocks.

Enable cheats and toss as many diamonds needed into lava to create an object. That's how I used to do it, at least...

You are only allowed to break dirt. Everything else is indestructible.
