Was wondering if anyone has been able to get the map "Crafting Azeroth" to work in FTB yet. It would be really cool to use a mod pack and make a base in Ironforge...lol.
Maps designed for vanilla should work with mods, although you might have to regenerate the chunks. Which might not end well, if the map you're referring to is the same map that's 40,000 something blocks tall and over a terabyte in memory.
I was thinking of the map that is called Crafting Azeroth and was made by Rumsey but I do not thing it is the same map your talking about. Rumsey's is 23GB unzipped is all and is broke into different "world layers" but I do not think that it would me more then 256x7 blocks tall. I would like to see the map your talking about though. Rumsey's map will not work in vanilla because it uses a mod that is only for bukkit as far as I know. The way Rumsey gets around the 256 block world height is split the map into different worlds then he uses a mod to change your world when changing your elevation.

Amusingly enough, that system is kinda similar to the way the classic WoW servers broke their continents into separated zones - which loaded when you entered them. Cute.
lol must be where the idea came from then. I could not find any other WoW map but later this summer it looks like Rumsey should have a copy of this that does not split it up...to bad I we have to wait.
