automonus activator berry picking question

So I have the aa picking xp berries. The output side is connected to a item duct set for extracting but it doesn't have a servo placed. It shouldn't need to becuase te machines force output. The duct is going to a chest with the duct set for destination import. Nothing is going to the chest. What am I missing?

Autonomous activators actually do not force output, so it'll need a powered extraction, just like for if you wanted to extract from a chest.

Also, I had to put a piece of dirt in the first slot of the AA to keep the AA from "using" the XP berry.
