So I am trying to keep an ender chest stocked with food torches and arrows and have it put anything ells put into the chest pumped into my ME network.

general goal ME network ---> food torches arrows --->ender chest-->not food torches or arrows --> ME network

So far I have tried to work it out with an interface or a storage bus..

if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it :)

Use translocators. Set up one set between a ME interface and the chest set with a diamond nugget so it you can keep a certain amount of the items stocked. Then have another set between the chest and a second interface set to extract with an exclude filter for the things you want kept in the chest.

Hmmm.... Good question here.... Honestly, I'm not sure that an ae system is capable of this behavior with an ender chest. My suggestion would be to do it through lp pipes, to just make use of the connectivity between the two. That should give you a relatively fast supply, but never overload the chest. Also thinking, although I'm not sure, as it's note setup I've used before, that the supply pipe will dump non specified things into the system. Probably better said by someone with more knowledge of lp though.

I did this with Routers, one Router targetting each slot in the EnderChest. It does "waste" one stack of each item in the Router, though. This was ion 1.4.7 when there was no Translocators - which may not be in the packs by default but can easily be copied over from the Direwolf20 1.5.2 pack.

If you're playing single player, there's definitely nothing stopping you from adding the Translocators mod to Unleashed. If you're playing on a server, you could always ask the server owner/admin if he'd add it or put it up for a vote.

You can use a Logistics Pipes subsystem.
There was a thread about the Peaceful Table from ExtraUtilities with a similar problem. You could copy the setup from there.

Edit: Link to thread

I think I'd just go with a separate enderchest fed by an ME Interface. I don't think you'll save any blocks/space by trying to set up buses and such to make this happen with a single ender chest.

I just use lp pipes with remote requesting. Instant access to the whole we system from anywhere including other dimensions as long as my system has the power.

While not as clean but, I use 2 enderchets/pouches. 1 is my "dump into network pouch" The chest has an import bus on it so anything I put into that bag ends up in the network. The other one is my "acces from away" chest. I manully keep a stack of food, portal gun, arrows, omniwrench, electric wrench, extra buckets, gregtech scanner, a couple of redstone engines and a pump, Soul shards I'm levelling, silk touch pick, etc. Just things I need occasionaly and don't want to have in my inventory all the time.

I also use it to put my good pick, shovel, armour into if I'm about to try something dangerous/stupid in the Nether, where I'll probably die. lol

You could do the same but put an export bus (or storage bus) on the second chest and keep it full of just food, arrows and torches.

That would end up filling the chest with one kind of item, most likely arrows from a skeleton spawner. Translocators is by far the best way to stock your traveller's pouch, if you can add that mod. Otherwise, Routers. Lots of Routers.

Actually if you prefill the chests slots with arrows, torches and food, set the bus to export full stacks and then always right click to pull a half stack of whatever out at a time it should only replenish the 32 taken out.

Probably not the best method, but simple and effective.

Ofcourse with an ME precision export bus

You know ME Interface has an Export config area. Put 64 Arrows, 64 Foods, 64 Torches there and it will keep that many of those items in attached storage (Ender Chest).
(apparently that is incorrect, my apologies)
It will also request the crafting of these items automatically from your MAC if you have recipes for torches and arrows in there.

Also, golems from TC3 can be used to keep stock in an enderchest/pouch. I was using them to keep my building materials stocked when I was in a Mystcraft age building a spawning tower.

Of course!!! I always underestimate the many uses of interfaces!

That's not true. It will keep the items specified in the Interface itself. They're not exported to any chests or other attached inventories.
But they can be pulled out with BC Pipes, Translocators, Transfer Pipes, Thaumcraft Golems or other stuff.

Ugh, no wonder I can't ever make those things work as advertised. Thanks for the correction.
